The best maps (or at least the ones with the best screenshots) usually have a ratio close to or equal to one. And the not-so-good ones? This ratio can approach infinity.

I believe it can be a useful tool to judge how popular the map is.

It used to do something like this for calculating snarkmarks, I'll see what I can do with mySQL and organising maps according to "popularity".
