Not so much a tool, but the function F9 does. Compiling is good. Yes.

*bites tongue and thinks*

MUST RESIST!!!

The whole thing is rubbish.

I've recently started getting into the radial duplicator.

Nah, the "New Entity" tool wins again.  Make nice rollable boulders using a (visciously hacked) cycler

Why on earth would you want a freehand polygon tool? You've seen what happens when you try to freehand in Paint or something, just imaging if such horrors could be transferred to map geometry

Often I only use the brush tool once per map, I tend to leave it after the first few brushes. That Shift + Drag concept is pretty handy, I really have to memorize my shortcuts so I can have a completely uncluttered workspace. [addsig]

Turn em all off, print out the shortcut cmds, and give yourself no other option.  Worked for me.

It's a bit more refined than that, you can either place the vertices where you want, or create control points similar to Photoshop, then use various tools to bend the lines around those points to get very nice smooth curves, and then extrude the shape.

Save.

Ditto. Maybe the "New Map" tool is better though.
