Even though i did not like HALO that well anymore, i liked it when it first came out. But anyway, I figured out the speeds of Halo objects in the game. (i did this like a year or more ago.)

WARTHOG- 37.7 MPH
gHOST- 44.8 mph
Scorpion- 26.1 mph
Banshee- 41.6 mph

Rocket from Scorpion- 551.5 mph
Rocket from Warthog- 68.9 mph
Fuel Cell from Banshee- 117.1
blue thing from banshee- 216.0

Master Chief Runs 14.5 mph
Master Chief runs backwards 12.4 mph

Gosh, you've got to spend more time mapping instead of measuring these things for Halo.

But I gotta give it to you. Your geekiness scale definitely tops mine.

I'm curious to know how you calculated these. [addsig]

I'm curious to know how you calculated these.

In CTF mode there is an indicator that tells how far away you are from the flag. I simply got into bloodgulch and got "N" meters away

I shot and/or moved while timing the actions giving us T which stands for the time in seconds.

use the equation:

(N x 0.000621371192)
(T x 3600)

Nicely done. The Master Chief can really haul ass for someone in a huge suit of armor. [addsig]

Verily, he can! He can also jump over one meter! I plan to measure out the stuff for HL2 soon. Does anyone else have anything like this? [addsig]

Halo was so overrated. I'd much rather have played Goldeneye, it was a far superior game even though the graphics were dated by comparison.

That's what makes the X-BOX what it is. There are only a handful of quality games.

Halo is cool, the singleplayer has a good story and had me stuck for a while and the multiplayer is very good because of the teamwork in the warthog. It was never that good though...

These speeds are cool but why the hell?

Because I can. AND had some extra time after one of my freinds said "I wonder what the top speed of the warthog is."

Jumping heights depend on the gravity of the world you're on. But anyway, master chief carries a power armour but that's probably also an exoskeletonal system wich enhances movement... They're currently investigating such stuff for soldiers, though it seems to be a rather complex subject.

Too bad, since a power armour doesn't look that bad, does it?

Well, a metre for me is basically a walking stride, so surely you mean a bit further than that.

Halo 2's field of view drives me nuts. You can't see anything.

Fanboys existing or not existing doesn't make a game any worse or better. A game is however good you find it to be. Personally I love the Halo games, though they are not without their faults, but I can also understand why others aren't so keen on it.

My brother just got Halo: Combat Evolved for PC for $20, but he hasnt been on his comp in a few days, and having only played Halo once or twice, I am dying to actually play some SP or MP, seeing as alot of people say it is good.

But it can't possibly be better than HL2, can it?

Multiplayer Halo and Halo2 far exceeds the fun factor of HL2 online. HL2 gets so repetetive with grav guns and like 2 weapons! Halo is fun 'cus not only is there a team element (on team games obviously) but you can drive and fly vehicles with your mates gunning or driving. So cool. [addsig]

no off myrk but when hl2 mods start rollin out it'l OWN halo ; D but no doubt halo has its ups. For parties its great on newyears 2 of my friends are bringin their xboxes and linking them. for 8 way halo 2 = D even tho hl2 can fit more pple halo has the "social" factor that only consoles have
