I am writing the documentation for Gmdm2.  I've tried to make sure that I credit all contributors, but I have a mediocre memory and doubtless will forget some people.

If you have contributed to Gmdm2 - via feedback, ideas or whatever - please post here to tell me.  Remind me what it was you did, and I will credit you (at my discretion, of course).

BTW - I've cut over 100 entities from Gmdm2_beta1, meaning that the final build *should* be pretty stable.  To give an estimate of the stability, here is a relative tripmine-overflow index (TM) comparison:

gmdm2_beta1: RTOI of 1
gmdm2 final: RTOI of 2
datacore: RTOI of 5

Here is the current list:

The SnarkPit in general, but in particular:

Orpheus
ReNo
Leperous
Supercrazy
Scary_Jeff
Alien_Sniper
Grimlock
Andrew Weldon
Mazemaster
Diablo_Druid
KoRnflakes
Tracer_Bullet
Juim
Wild Card
Yak_Fighter
Cash Car Star
Myrk-

Also:

Laurie Cheers
Zoner, Merl, XP-Cagey
QuickSilver
The Mighty Pete

Note: I will continue to update the list above to reflect changes in my documentation.

Also let me know if you would like your name to appear differently (like, say, your real name instead).  For example, instead of writing "Leperous" I could write O-

*edit* oh no you don't - Lep

Explain your 'RTOI'- if it is what I think it is, I'm sure you need more than 5 exploding tripmines to crash datacore?

That's not the number needed, just a proportional amount. In other words, if it took 20 trip mines to crash Gmdm2_beta1, then it takes 2x as many to crash Gmdm2 final (40 total) and 5x as many to crash datacore (100 total, and one helluva lot)

How can we find the RTOI?  Just stick mines all over the wall and then shoot? [addsig]

It's just something he made up to show how unstable the map used to be, and how much stabler he made it, and how unstable that still is in comparison to a typical HLDM map. There is no need for you to worry about any such thing unless you know you have some mind-numbingly large amount of entities in use.

The "real" value of RTOI is the number of tripmines you can place in multiplayer (just place, not explode) before the map crashes......divided by 50.

So it takes about 50 mines to crash beta1, about 100 to crash the current version and about 250 to crash datacore.

Note that the RTOI index may give a less accurate measure once sufficient tripmines have been placed to overflow the beam table (it stops drawing extra lasers then)

More importantly, it's an anagram of RIOT.
