The SP game takes a lot longer to load than the multiplayer one. I didn't realize that there is a separate .exe for multiplayer until last night, when I realized that I shouldn't be using the SP engine to run the DM map.

Everything worked fine, because I haven't added any info_player_deathmatch until yesterday. I've never played any deathmatches until last night, when I got pawned repeatedly by the more veteran players. It was pretty pathetic.

I am probably the only SnarkPit member who's never played any DM on any platform for any game (until last night). Considering I'm making a DM map, that's quite astonishing. I couldn't even get Hammer to load the HL2MP config settings because I've never run DM before!

Its takes longer to load because of the backgrounds before you start a game.

Never played anysort of DM, that seems so impossibleto me. Its anoying when you get a new game and everyones better than you, like unreal tournament, im lucky to get any kills, the gameplays so much faster than other games.

To stop those background maps, go into properties, then the command line options and add -console.

Odd, lemme see what i have then,

I do have -console, but in the games properties then launch options, not a shortcut
