The SP game takes a lot longer to load than the multiplayer one. I didn't realize that there is a separate .exe for multiplayer until last night, when I realized that I shouldn't be using the SP engine to run the DM map.
Everything worked fine, because I haven't added any info_player_deathmatch until yesterday. I've never played any deathmatches until last night, when I got pawned repeatedly by the more veteran players.
It was pretty pathetic.
I am probably the only SnarkPit member who's never played any DM on any platform for any game (until last night). Considering I'm making a DM map, that's quite astonishing. I couldn't even get Hammer to load the HL2MP config settings because I've never run DM before!
