i made a.. sled? thing..... anyways my words suck and my pictures suck but at least a sucky picture is worth a thousand equally sucky words...




it looks like this from the outside...





go around the back and... woo a switch!




press the switch and... wooo the front part opens!





when you go in, you can press a button to open/close front part, or press a button to do.. THIS...

LOL ITS LIEK GLASS NOW!!!



when you're controlling it - you currently have 3 options
Fire: Extend/retract the 2 spikes....
Alt Fire: start up/stop fan blade thingy
Move Forward: makes the whole thing go forward (oh god that took me a while to figure out)





it still has problems but im working on it....

When its going forward its basically scraping in the ground .....

it doesnt turn or go backward (yet!)

usualy when going over bumps and hills i end up falling out of it...


but.. its still fun and i made it heavy enough so people that come in on my server dont throw it at me and kill me with it anymore.... now they just use guns... they dont realise it opens



edit: hey.. if i take that propeller and put it on the roof instead it'll be a roflcopter?

It's... weird... but funny. Fix it up, make it fully functional, give it a good look and perhaps you can create a nice racing-map?

maybe... in the state it is in now it doesnt do much... except.. kill me sometimes..... in fact.. alot...

well.. i was just kinda experimenting.... about 10 different new things i had to use to create this - so i learned from the experience ... so.. yay !!

It was alright, although needs much work. First off, put in a info_player_start. I am use to playing maps in Half-Life 2 SP since I don't play DM much. Another problem is you didn't include any of the materials and the controls on the vehicle were horrible.

But I loved the spikes that came out from the front. Maybe use a blade model instead of a brush-based fan, just to make it look more detailed. Work on it and it'll be a good 'noob creation' .

i definitely have to work on the controls............
is there any way to use a model for a func_door and func_rotating? for the saw blade thingy and the spikes....

You may be able to set an animation or something to it. Take a look at some entities.

Hmm, nice, a darnsight further than i have got with vehicles

I got some suggestions, when the wings come out, make some phys_thrusters under the wings to make it take off slowly, and also i suggest adding some wheels to make it drive
