I was thinking of a fun HL2DM map but i'm not sure if it has either already been implemented or maybe it isn't practical. I was thinking of a motocross type track but with the HL2 jeeps instead. Players could just have fun racing around and launching off some small jumps. Again, not sure if this has already been either attempted, made, or dismissed due to problems within multiplayer. Any feedback on this is appreciated.

It's feasible, but the buggies don't function well in multiplayer games. For example, the mounted guns don't fire, and there is some rendering model issue after you exited from the vehicle (current weapon model becomes invisible).

I agree. I don't want weapons on the buggies, just to race with, but if there is an issue with the model when exiting........Not sure if it'll be worthwhile. Best thing for me to do would be to do a quick test and tinker with it I guess.

I was going to do a similar thing with FarCry but gave up due to
difficulties running the editor smoothley with big maps. I was making a
Race-track for Half-Life 2, although it is for my Roadrash
modification. Maybe I will convert it sometime if no-one does.
Also, can't you modify vehicles via scripting files? I don't know if it'd be possible to add new weapons, although perhaps you can edit damage values.

you could make it a race, like a 5 players all get in buggy at start line, after 1 second gate is release and the start race, when one comes over the finish he drives through a trigger that makes the others die?
that would be possible i think

I made quite a nice simple hovercraft race level with 1 hovercraft, and my way of boosting its speed.
