I've got 2 WMV files. One containing the intro of my new movie, the other one the movie itself.

I want to burn these on DVD so every DVD player can read them. The 2 WMV's should be seperate chapters.

How do I do that ?

A little search comes up with this:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=wmv+to+dvd&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official
The top one does what you want. [super dvd creator].
I haven't used any of these btw.

*sings* oh I get high with a little help from my google friend.

Erh, I tried all the hits on google's first page, and all the programs buggered up somewhere in the process, tho. Not the right size, sloppy sound ... [addsig]

Well ... only DVD players that can read DVD-/+R will be able to read it ...

I don't really think that's true. It's possible to just write a 'universal' disc with a DVD-burner, no ? If not, what's the use of that thing.

There are 3 different DVD formats I believe. The way I understand it, is that dvd player manufactuers decide to support either, +, or -, along with dvd-ram. Not all three, though.

DVD-RAM is quite rare.
DVD-R is the most common, and can play in almost all DVD players.
DVD+R is supposedly "better" (can support a few other modes) but isn't as compatible.
I've burnt many DVD-Rs (I have a spindle of Ritek ones) and I have been able to play it in every DVD player and drive I've come across so far.

You could also convert the WMVs to AVIs and then just plunk them on a DVD-R with Nero or what-not (that's why I usually do.)
