*bumps*
Old thread perhaps, but still on topic.
As to my earlier issue, it turned out that my card was bad, not the router. So, its best to check all the hardware before one panics..
New problem, solution.
For almost the entire time I was on this run, my internet has been down. I checked everything and yet was stymied..
All my hardware was fine... (I checked, all 3 PC's were not talking to the net so it assumes that its localized to the router, or modem.)
I called my ISP, my internet was up and fine..
I checked my router, it showed alls fine too..
I was getting worried, I was starting to think my modem was bad, in spite of all the green lights stating otherwise.
Solution.. I reset the router.. After I re-entered the username/password, the thing began to hum along as before..
All I can figure is, some sort of a power flicker happened while no one noticed and borked the routers input cause the thing couldn't find the net without the proper user/pass.
For the record.. Linksys codes the password so no one gaining access to it can tell how many digits are in the word/phrase.. mine is 6 digits, but it has like 15 asterisk symbols to mask them so no one can say "hey it has only 6"
Final verdict... check everything before you consign it to the scrap bin.
