Well, im reformatting and putting Win Xp Pro on instead of Win 2000 pro, well the reason im posting this is to ask what should i keep??

Ive got Game Iso's (well NRG's), CS souds and models etc, hl2 save files, is there anything else i would need, ive got no homework or important files etc,

Hmm, bit hard to have somebody else tell you what you need to backup given that we don't know what you have or want to keep Normal stuff people might backup might be...

Media (mp3s, videos, wallpapers...)
Apps (installation files, NOT the installed folders or programs)
Development stuff (map source files, textures I've collected, models I've made...)
Personal stuff (email archives if kept locally, documents, school/uni work...)
Custom game content (custom maps, custom models, your save files...)

Can't really think of anything else off the top of my head.

Well i thought of this but since ive got Win2K i thought they might be regestries you might want keep.

Oh aswell ive only got 2 MP3's since ive had my computer for about 3 or 4 weeks!

I just want XP on and not 2K

Very important: Your steam GCF's !

Use the backup option the "my games" list offers to backup all your precious mods and files, unless you want to spend two weeks re-downloading all that on the busy Steam servers.
