Does anyone know how i can reduce the speed of an mp3 file from 128kbits to 44? i heard from some people, and the custom sounds tutorial on this site, that HL2 will only play 44kbps, cd quality apparently?

Anyone know about these things?

by using dBPower AMP

look about halfway down the page.

you can convert MP3 to MP3 quite easily.

funny you mention it, i am doing so to an audio book i have

Or get Sound Edit Pro. It will allow you to edit virtually any type of sound file.

The tut kinda explains how to get your sound files in the right format, no ?

Load up your MP3 file, and follow the instructions. Should work fine.

Ok, thanks. I was looking at the HL2 tut, this one helps to though, didnt see it.

I'm sure its 44Khz you are talking about, which is a frequency and not a bitrate. Most mp3's should be recorded at a frequency of 44khz I believe, whether you are using a bitrate of 128, 192, or whatever.
