Wow! That's great. You're one of the few people who can eat all they want and still maintain a healthy weight. Good for you.
However, consuming vegetables and fruits still helps to lower the risk of cancer and other ailments. So even if you don't do it for weight reasons, there are still plenty of other reasons why people should be eating healthy.
I thought I was the only "oldie" besides Orph at the SnarkPit, but apparently, older gamers and mappers are not that uncommon. ![]()

Also, the site says nothing about whether or not coke can eat rust off engine blocks or dissolve stuff, it just says that Coke will not dissolve your teeth/bones any more than your own stomache acid would, and that drinking coke is not like soaking stuff in coke.
Well, i've checked it out, it wasn't written objectivly at all. Just becuse Coca Cola is a large company, you don't have to blame their products to be radioactive

Fool sloth, Muscle weighs way more than Fat.
Think of what he said logically. He got more muscular but stayed the same. Now surely if he got more muscly, but muscle weighed less than fat, then he would not only lose the weight of the fat, but would only gain a tiny proportion in muscle, so in theory he would be lighter.
If muscle weighs more (as it does) then he loses all his fat, and gains a bit of muscle. He wouldn't gain as much muscle as he had fat (in size terms), but in mass terms it would be almost the same.

Yeah Satchmo, i'm an oldie too. I'll be 35 next month.
I remember seeing cigarette commercials when I was a kid. Back when they were still considered "semi-acceptable". Now there just advertised on billboards and in magazines for the most part. I wonder if 20 years from now fast food commercials will no longer exist, or at least be severely regulated or minimized. It's going to be interesting to see. I feel strongly that America's (in particular) overweight issue is quickly coming to a head.
When I was as old as my late 20's I could eat anything under the sun and not gain an ounce. These days I really need to be critical of what I eat. I'm also in the Marine Corps so I guess i'm somewhat forced to stay in good physical condition, but that hasn't stopped me from gaining 20 pounds since I joined in 1995. Yes, it's time for me to exercise more and eat healthier. I weigh 165 now and i'm 5' 10".
You made a good point earlier about having a plate of fruit on the dining room table to eat if someone has the munchies. Damn good idea. As a matter of fact, I went to the fridge the other day and took out an apple. I haven't eaten one in years and it tasted great. Kinda sad, this day and age we live in. I admire your proffesion, Satchmo.
I've looked into the Alkaline diet which my wife has pointed out to me and we're going to do 75% alkaline foods and 25% acidic. Should help us out.

The only sort of fidgeting I can see is typing/mouse work on the computer, that probably helps alot I guess. Forums and essays make alot of heavy finger use, aswell as gaming every now and then and working out in Hammer!

One's profession (or extracurricular activities) has great impact on one's fitness, it should be obvious. Soldiers and professional atheletes are required to stay in shape to meet the needs of their respective career. But I think being a doctor helps too, especially during the flu season.
I walk extremely briskly from room to room, and back and forth from my office to each exam room. Sometimes I walk so fast that I almost run into the nurses and other doctors. We have a tremendously large patient load right now, during the peak of the flu season. So to accommodate all the patients who want appointments, we double-book lots of them. The wait is already long to begin with, so I have to walk really fast to save time. I don't want to cut short of the actual visit, and I want to spend as much time as necessary with each patient, so I have to find time in between patients.
Also, I am just starting to play deathmatches recently. I think that burns a lot of calories for me too. Whenever I play, my hands tremble and my heart pumps with the adrenaline rush. It's almost like I am actually running around inside the map myself.

The average weight and height for a fourteen-year-old male is 51 kg (113 lb) and 164 cm (65 in) respectively. Here is an useful link if anyone is curious about his/her weight: http://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts/
And if anyone uses a Palm OS PDA, this is the program I use to calculate BMI and growth: http://www.statcoder.com/growthcharts.htm (it's a free program).
So I think some Pit members are potentially overweight without realizing it.

another piece of useless [and most probably bollox] information that i picked up a long time ago, was that the brain is a major consumer of your bodies resources, and that intelligent people need more fuel, therefor have a better chance of staying slim.
sounds good to me, seeing as i'm a skinny freak.

Yeah, I'd like to think that too. But unfortunately it's not true. The brain does use a lot of energy, but there is no difference between smart and stupid people in their brain's energy consumption.
I'd like to think that mapping burns a lot of calories too (from firing all those neurons), but that ain't true either. It does, however, make you smarter though. I believe it enhances spatial comprehension.

I'm 14 - 174 cm and 60 kg - I suppose I'm quite a healthy weight for my height then? I'm definitely not fat, or muscly - As shown here.
I'm also glad that you are doing your bit in trying to help these kids - they really need your support, and their parents really need a good kick in the general vicinity of their oversized asses.

Indeed it does, which is why people appear to "get better" at it.
