Who would be happy to stick their hands in their pockets, for any amount large or small, to contribute to an international "Snarkpit Server" - for testing, and public playing of users maps alike.

The idea is we can have proper playtesting in conjuction with the "Maps" forum (at server admins discretion) and a 24/7 rotation of the best official, and unofficial levels.

I'm reviewing the deals available, and will be looking at servers plugged into "main internet backbones" to ensure a decent ping for 90% of our users.

So, just out of curiosity, who would be willing to pay a little toward a server?

I don't expect the younger, unemployed folks amongst us to do it - but the more cash we have (theoretically we can afford anything) , the more flexibility we have over games/mods run, and the connection speeds for all nationalities. [addsig]

As it happens, we can afford the best already BUT - i'd rather get the best "bare bones" deal I can, but for another $1-200, we can guarantee extra spinkies, eg support for both HL2DM, and CS:S (plus other future mods) , or reliable sub 100 ping times for the US and the UK.

Player load would be between 12 and 16 - as you can well imagine, the higher you go up the list, the greater the increments are in price change... [addsig]

My box is online all the time, except when my parents turn her off... Although I tell them not to. So I couldnt do myself a game server. But I'd be willing to give a try to a file server of some sorts.

No probs at all Orph, there will be ways round it - every little helps to make it slightly better for all players concerned, no matter how it reaches me

Mainly it eases the strain on my wallet so i'm a happier bunny [addsig]

I already have a sizable "charitable donations" slice in my budget and I'd be willing to include this on the list. I realize it isn't exactly a charity, but I'd be willing to dip into that to the tune of $30-50 monthly for the duration of my employment. [addsig]

I'd be willing to contribute if I could actually play on it, which is probably not going to happen .

Also what would seem like a huge contribution for me would to you look like I'm being a complete cheap skate, what with the fact the Aussie dollar is worth bupkis.

the way i see it master smith, if 100 of use gave a dollar each, that would be 100 bucks.. cheap is in the eye of the beholder.

the odds are, cheap will not even be brought up at all. i am poor as hell, but i imagine i will find a way to contribute somethin.

I would support a Snark Pit HL2DM server. I only work part-time...but I could make a small contribution....even if it is just like a buck or two...I would support it

How can working too little cause you to owe money? If you make less, your average tax rate pretty much has to go down... *confused*

So am I....... my guess is it had to do with me providing less for me as an independent or something (I was working on a school research project!!!), so now I owe a tax on that. Really im confused.

California is great to live in, but its god awful expensive to do so, especially if you are within 20 minutes of the beach .

I'd love to pass along some cash, if I could play on the server. I supose me on the east coast wouldn't ping too bad but for source I seem to need super low pings to play.
