I just finished my map and was just wondering if there's anyone (admins) out there who can give it a proper review. Good or bad. Just curious on peoples take on it. I'm not sure if anyone is actively reviewing right now but I thought i'd ask. Thanks in advance. [addsig]

why would you want a review from people who are not even good enough to critique it?

personally, i don't see a future in reviews, no one wants to post maps till they are done or nearly done so whats the use. :/

I'm not sure whether the curmudgeonly Orpheus is being modest or sarcastic, but Snarkpit has evolved to a community focused on refining works in progress than judging "completed" levels. We kind of have the ethos that maps aren't ever finished, just abandoned. Post it up in your profile with some news and a thread and I'm sure you'll get a handful of responses to the map if it looks interesting enough. From the few screens I saw, it looked a little sparse.

edit: and a whole bunch of people posted while I was watching Win Ben Stein's Money. This post is in reference to Orph's first response.

I'd be happy to have you do a quick review of the map, Yak_Fighter. And don't worry about me, I look at everything as constructive criticism. When I used to map for HL1, I got my a$$ handed to me quite a bit when it came to my maps. Thanks for considering it. It'll only make me a better mapper.

And I don't know what you're talking about, Orph.

And what the heckfire does "handbags" mean. Does that mean that you're handing him his bags so that he can take a hike? If so, i'll help ya. J/K Orph.

Orph, he did post a beta version and ask for critiques. As you can see, his thread didn't exactly get a great reception.

It never even saw a reply commenting on the screenshots nor anybody mentioning they were downloading to take a look. I don't think anybody was going to, and if thats the case you can't begrudge somebody releasing it. It was up far over 24 hours.

It's just what I read I guess. You're going to consume a greater quantity of expressions reading Woody Allen and Kurt Vonnegut over US Weekly. I also see no need to hide my knowledge of long words, I consider it my linguistic speedo.

He said it was 98% done and he was looking for feedback on the posted beta version, and if that isn't requesting a critique im not sure what is.
