I have a very good question too: Does it get annoying when there are several posts with titles: "Please answer me" and "please read" and "this is a good question". This is nothing against the original poster I just think that its massively annoying when someones topic has nothing to do with what they want.

Yeah I do agree, especially in editing problem topics where you get loads of "Please help!" or "I'm so stukc, plz help k thx!" style thread titles

Ohh come on guys. I think this was a legit question eh? .........eh?

I realize there has been a post on this BUT:

  • There are so many Snarkpit users who are huge custom map fans...(obviously)
  • I think it is a smart idea to host your own custom servers for CS:S and HL2 DM with customer maps from your own website. What a great way to get users to vote on these maps.....let them play them in your server.
  • Plus with this many users it would be very doubtful if there wasn't a user with a server that would gladly host these maps.

Friggen sweeet that's all I have to say.

LOL you guys like to "jump all over" a new poster, but seriously I'm laid back and not a newb so no beat in hazing necessary...lol

We should set up a poll for the members of SnarkPit to determine which maps go on the rotation. It's the most democratic way, and isn't it our mission in life to "spread democracy and freedom"? That's what G. W. Bush says.

Lep's in Britain, so it's a bit more of a constitutional monarchy. The most efficient model truly should be the representative republic. I'd rather elect people I feel confident in the tastes of to decide the map rotation as a committee.

I'm totally against the idea of having map votes to determine what is played, it's an invititation for vote rigging and sub standard maps to be played.

But that's just me

I've chalked up ideas of which maps i'll be putting into the first custom map pack, but I want people to realise also this is going to be used to playtest maps to go hand in hand with beta works from the Maps forum.

We can create beauty and atmosphere, but organised playtests are so important to making a good map frag well, because for all the graphics and "wow" factor, playability is still uber important in a maps profile.

We all know democracy caters to the lowest common denominator and I think nobody wants to play 15 versions of killbox all day. Majority tyranny and all that. I say we just have a benevolent dictator decide the rotation for us, and if we don't like it we revolt to install a new dictator. It works for South America, why not for us?

There will be the medium - good custom maps uploaded to the server only, with a voting module installed on there. But if I invite the option to vote on any custom map off this site, it is open game for crap to be on there.

Edit: either way I haven't even been billed yet so all you crazy gravy necked rim licking furbags needn't worry yet about how it will operate Cross that bridge when we come to it, and all that [addsig]
