Uh, you know, my Intel has impressed me quite a bit. Espc. seeing as how I can host a Source server and play at the same time without any noticable loss. Now that's impressive.

my old system supports up to 2.6 ghz

but its a 400 FSB motherboard, would this processor work in it nick?

if so, let me know what the top bid is and i will see if i can top it, cause i'd love a new processor. my machine is currently a 1.8

[edit] this is my motherboard..

As far as I know, it will work. But the processor will have to reduce it's FSB to 400. Although for some reason I think this might affect it's internal speed, but Im not sure. I've never actually tested that. Best wait for Crono to answer this.

Its currently going for 63$ CDN (about 53 US).

As far as I can tell, yeah, it should work. You'd just have to clock the FSB in bios properly.

However, as most of intel's documents say: that chip was made for intel chipsets. It even explains how you have update your bios to support 800 Mhz bus.

In other words, I'm looking. Hang on ...

[edit]
Well ... I can't find anything for the chipset or processor that says it can't be clocked down. However, It's usually not a good idea. But I suppose in the worst case scenario you'd have to shell out $30-$40 for another board.

That processor, I believe, would cost around $150(US) to go out and buy. [addsig]

*keeps Jon posted*

63 Canadian dollars now. You can even, as Crono mentioned, buy a 800FSB compatible mobo and get a kick ass system set up.

I am not rich, as you well know, but i feel you need the money as much as i need the deal, so when the bidding stops, lemme know how much it is and if i have it i will match it.

this guarantee's you get paid.

I think you would benefit the deal more than I the cash. Whatever it sells for, I save for a CPU/mobo upgrade probably this summer.

There have been 2 bidders. The first one bid at 49 and set himself to auto bid until whatever. A second guy came in and bid, but was outbid 4 times. I guess my goal was to start low and have it bid higher, but most bids come towards the end anyways.

Maybe if I get enough out of it.

I've also got some other items I could put up. A P2 400Mhz system, Duron 800 system (minus a CD drive and keyboard) both with no monitors.

My friend is also selling his system to buy a laptop for college. He has a Athlon 64 3000, 512 Corsair DDR 400, 9600pro and a few other goodies.
