no gwil, my son went to questionable sites to acquire cracks and such.. he got this too.. turned out to be spyware that installed the website URL permanently..

it took me a while to get it gone.

still... i could be mistaken, as i am unsure where this fella went.

There should be a "clear autocomplete" option somewhere in the browser options. [addsig]

I say, switch to Firefox. You can clear all of that stuff with the click of a button. And plus I like Firefox better. [addsig]

Try mousing over it when the drop down box comes, with it highlighted, press the delete key. That should work. Otherwise, go to Tools>Internet options... In the new window, go to the bottom third and press clear history. That should work as well. Hope this helps. [addsig]

try going to tools > internet options > content tab

there should be a button that says autocomplete click it, then click on the clear form button

should work if i recall correctly

i use firefox now because i prefer tabbed browsing amongst other things

if it doesnt go away, as orph said you probably have spyware/adware, try googling for microsoft antispyware, spybot search and destroy, and ad-adware

Reformatting every time you look a porn...that would be a bugger Whatever happens, consider using firefox in the future. Its really nigh on identical to IE bar a few additional (and useful) features.

In internet explorer, choose Tools, Internet Options..., select the General tab, and click "Clear History".

... except that it doesn't have a kick-ass Google toolbar plugin (now version 3, with spell checker goodness that thesilence REALLY needs).

You can remove them by deleting the relevant parts of your registry. No I won't be cruel and tell you to delete the entire HKEY_CURRENT_USERS tree, but it's in there somewhere. Good luck

Doesn't it? Well I have a google search box permanently in the top corner, and a dictionary.com search box, and an IMDB search box, so that will do the job just fine for me

to clear all pr0n traces from your computer:

goto start menu|run type regedit, click the top level, and then search for "typedurl" then delete all traces from there.

Then clear history

then delete all cookies and "temporary internet files"

then go to the "content" tab in the internet properties and select "autocomplete" and click CLEAR FORMS.

this will get rid of all pr0n traces in internet explorer.

Is that all? I have (here we go...):
Google, Google UK, Yahoo, A9, Amazon, CDDB, Creative Commons, Dictionary.com, eBay (though I'm not sure why), Encarta, Google Images, Google Scholar, HowStuffWorks, and Wikipedia. For those that didn't know, you can get other search engines from http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html

Granted that I miss a few features from the Google toolbar, but the main one I used - highlight search terms - has been replaced by the find tool, so I'm quite happy using Firefox.

Each to his own though...
