How often do you reset your computer/how often does your computer crash (given the stability of windows and hldm)?

Rarely happens for me. Though my computer used to crash a lot, due to
bad coolant paste, but ever since that's fixed it runs like a charm.

I've had an uptime of 73 days on my desktop now.
My linux server, at last check, was going for about 120 days.

it's always a good idea to reset an HL server at least once a day. there was an patch with the recent update that addresses some of the problem, but i don't think it's a complete fix.
the last time i had to reset my comp was last night, but that was the first time in a while. i suppose it serves me right for trying out raptors hl2 map creation prog. ![]()

I was resetting a few times a day when I had the memory compatibility
problem. But now that's behind me, I haven't touched the reset
button for a week now.

I was crashing because my Vid Card would overheat because my fan on the
GPU dued, however I put a Thermaltake Giant III Heatpipe on it and no
problems no.
However I do turn my computer off at night, because it's to damn loud with the fans in it (Yay Overclocking), but if it wasn't in my room I'd leave it on.

I press the power button on my comp to initiate shutdown sequence. I
dunno if it is damaging (hasn't caused any problems so far), but it
sure beats going start>shutdown.

My computer generally freezes up on me a good two or three times a day,
but I also have the nasty habit of just pulling the plug on it without
shutting down a lot. Its ability to screw up at any time means that I
save everything I do after every little change I make (even if I'm
writing a long email, I'll save it in notepad a good few times. Its
quite crippling, to be honest.
If I'm not going to be using it for say a half an hour I shut it down, then reboot when I come back.

I always turn off my computer no matter what every night, and I turn it
off for every extended period of time. Because if your computer is a
server and needs to be on 24/7, then you should shut down. And also a
fast computer doenst take that long to boot up, just run bootvis from
time to time to optimize the boot up time.

I don't quite know why, but VHE keeps sabotaging XP! I find myself
forced to reset my machine eachtime I finish playing around with this
editor! If I don't, then eachtime I try to open a drop-down list,
explorer would crash.
