for all my vaulted knowledge in mapping, i still cannot fathom the popularity of so stupid a conceptual map.
perhaps, i should not have started with maps that were leagues above them and i would.

You my friend, are a perfect example of people not using the rating system properly.
If people rated you on what you have given back to this community, your score would far outstrip most here. I think, it would be among the highest.
I wish people would use the system as i do. Even people I do not particularly get along with have received "5's" from my camp.
I think you have given far more back than myself, and your score (personal rating, not snarkmarks) is lower than mine even 
People, put your personal feelings aside, and rate people on their knowledge, not on your perceived notions of them personally.
For instance, Kung_Fu_Squirrel, he is a living legend around here. I would never even entertain the idea otherwise, but we have members whom help people daily and have far lower scores. Rate people on their knowledge, and what they GIVE BACK to this community.
NOTE:Andrew knows that I have mucho gobs respect for him, and only use him as an example to illustrate my point. No hard feelings were intended i assure everyone.

Then I suggest we get back to rating each other, cause I for one have little or no maps rated.
/me goes through list and begins campaign to rectify this.

[EDIT] JEZUS people, I had not realized how many maps, or better yet, how many people are not using the rating system.
