Jesus, when I saw the thread title I thought it was a humorous thread on chumtoads or something. It is kinda funny in a strange and twisted way, but I really hope I won't live to hear of exploding germans on the news .

Hold the phone, I just heard about this thing on the news! They said pretty much what the article you found said, except for one more detail which was overlooked by that article: it can be passed on to humans, except that, rather than causing the victim to blow-up, it causes "explosions" in and on the body!

The only non-viral cause I could think of is an alternating electric field.

some friends of mine tryed that with sea gulls, they didn't burst like we were told they would, they just fell to earth... vomited... flew away.

Why can't it be bacterial- do you think a possible gas build up inside 'airtight' tissues is too rapid and can only be viral?

maybe the frogs ate something reeaaaly bad, like old spam or something, and maybe frogs are unable to fart,so they blow up.

I think that some toads were given a bad Botox shot to try to clear up those bumps on thier skin. afterwards the Botulins got in thier tummies and expanded from there.
