Honestly? I am tired of Jesus being portrayed as a Caucasian. his race was far from white. smiley

I have seen some really fair haired illustrations in my day and am tired of him being "Americanized"

Pagans worship God's creations don't they? Anyways being a Druid sounds kick ass. Can you go into bear form and and cast entangling roots on people? [addsig]

Well dont tell anyone else.. but yes I can.. but only on Certain cycles of the moon and heavens.. you know the alignment and all that jazz.

As for the Worship of God Creations.. its more of a respect, than worship. But lets get back to the Jesus doll.. what do you think of that? I know Orph doesnt like its white heritage look. ( raciest - jk )

Orph, what confuses me almost equally so is people saying that Jesus was black.

/Me was commenting mostly on things like "Statues,Murals, and Pictures"

I have never heard anyone say he was black, but i do not doubt it.

Wouldn't he be more arabic looking? Maybe Redish Brown skin, sorta Egyptian? I mean that was the part of the world he came from.. Yeah Im not to crazy about the cleaned up white Jesus either Orph.. ( Wait I need to stop Rant is coming. )

But the Doll is what I wanted to talk about.. He talks, he quotes scripture and teaches bible stuff? Would you want your kid playing with that? Do you think its appropiate? What problems would such a doll have? Marketing Jesus, does this bother you?

He would probably be mostly Arab. I suppose we make Gods in our own image, though.

Yeah, that would fly well... A jesus doll that looked like a 'terrorist' (i.e. an Arab).

I could see the MAAT (mothers agains all things) getting their undies in a bunch over something like that.

Unless 110% of profits go to poor kids in Africa and South America (the places that took quite a beating from Jesus lovers) I think its sick to sell a religious icon as a toy.

It's probably a sort of counter-propaganda, a way to face the rising of Islam, since most Europeans and Americans have become completely laical (if not druidic). But a doll?? I don't think it's very appropriate.

As for the looks, I think we owe this to the casting of the famous Zeffirelli's "Jesus of Nazareth": this actor has become, to a lot of catholics, the actual J.C! I think the Vatican has even forbidden him to do any other movie... I wouldn't see him anyway in a movie like "Under Siege" (why did I chose that example?)

I know its sacrilege, but every time i see the words "Second Coming of Jesus" i think "what a stud.."

perhaps its my lack of faith, but i never considered reincarnation as particularly religious.

*shrugs*

stop looking at me like that!

I think it's crazy, but it's a free world (so much for not making idols), plus I've seen worse or the same done before... I'm sure Orph will love this "Gay American" action figure <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_lol.gif">

Pretty soon we'll have a Gay Hitler action figure with kung-fu action and, if you'll squeeze it, you'll hear it imitate Cartman from Southpark saying "Ey, ya f*ckin jew!". Bloody antisemites. smiley

Without the picture (which i am SO GLAD you included) do you have any idea what image "action figure" puts into ones mind?????

I didn't know whether to laugh, or cringe cause mental images kept flashing through my mind.. one of a Clark Kent in pink racing off to save the day, and another of a couple bumping and grinding in true gay fashion. YUKKY!

anywho's, thanx a million for that Lep :P
