But then again, most hollywood studios just want an initial money flow from a name. Die Hard 4 is an example. It's not even about McClaine or anything, so why is it called die hard? Money.

Well since you asked.. I would guess its because its a established name, and they think they can sucker people to see it based on the name alone. And in doing so they make more money.

I was reading a few sites today, and the movie is in fact about McClane and his daughter going on vacation and getting mixed into the middle of a terrorist plot.

heh I knew you were not asking me.. but I could not resist. lol

In case this have not been said on the topic about the Doom movie: it will suck.
The Doom movie will not be set on Mars, Phobos or Deimos.
The Doom movie will have nothing to do with hell, the monsters are there because of a virus.
The Doom movie humans are not the space marines from the Doom games.

The only thing they have in common is the name, "Doom".

A movie about Half-Life 2 wiht gordon would be horrible, but if it would be based on the hl2 enviroment en follows a charter that spoke(scientist, combine, rebel etc.) then i think it wouldnt turn out that badly.

As ever, I'm sure we would let them off if they made an HL1 movie with Charlie Sheen in it and talking/swearing a lot. :P

Everyone always speculates about which actors should play which roles in a HL movie... and I usually don't care either way. But after seeing this photo, the choice for Gman is clear:

Who should play Alyx? Jennifer Garner? Halle Barry? Jessica Alba? Thandie Newton? Or *gasp* Angelina Jolie?

I know who should play Eli...Morgan Freeman.

What about Gordon? Johnny Depp? It's gotta be someone who is kinda nerdy looking yet cool at the same time.

Sean Connery totally is Dr. Breen.
Weve had a discussion about this before but it seems it was on an older forum version, I cant find it.
Anyway, Charlie Sheen would make a good, the best, Gordon-

You guys, seriously, you're worse then casting directors.

Have you ever thought that it'd be a better idea to find "unknowns" to play the parts instead of casting A-List actors all around and trying to force them into the roles?

Also, Suicide Kings is pretty good (that's what that picture is from) and yes, Walken would be great.

Az, dude, Charlie Sheen is a terrible actor, no way around that s**tty acting of his. Sure, he looks the part, but come on. You can make almost anyone look like the character you want. That isn't the problem. [addsig]

Yea, a cast of unknown actors would make it a lot better.
Yea, Charlie Sheen is a joke when it comes to acting but, as all actors in this thread (I presume), he was picked for the looks. Perhaps it wouldnt take that much talent doing Gordon in a movie though.

HEY!, wait a moment.. Both my choices are fine actors, AND relatively low on the "Most wanted" lists..

My choices would not harm any movie version made. :/
