I personally use www.doom9.org but to each their own as they say.
try the Gordian Knot codec pack.
you can always google search for newest codecs.
I also strictly use viplay to watch movies with.

He has before. There was an entire thread where everyone spouted how to get good codecs and find out which ones you need.
And I hate ViPlay, bloated, just like the new Media Players. Media Player Classic is alright, it's very simple and small.
[edit]
or perhaps not. weird.
Anyway, if you're playing an AVI and windows or any other player on your computer bitches: It's Divx. You can grab a divx codec which is separate from the player here.

Or perhaps that comment wasn't meant towards you. ViPlay is still not a great player. In any case, he was asking about codecs.
G-Spot is a program in which tells you the codecs you need to play whatever video/ audio file. It also tells you if you have any codecs installed that can play that file.
I know there was another thread that covered all of this not too long ago.

I believe you Crono, need I remind you that I am gone for days at a time?
I don't mean to rehash this, I will seek out the other thread... If I can figure out the keywords ![]()

I have WinAmp, and DivX, and there has not been a movie I cant watch yet.. Im assuming this is because most of the codecs are built into the two.
Now I refuse to watch any Real Time flick.. Real Time is da Debil! THE DEBIL!

I enjoy it. It seems to have a decent codec support base. The only common file I've found it doesn't like are realmedia files. Which sucks.
