We're making some final decisions on the details of the ceremony, including what to read by the officiant and friends.

I'm favoring something by Pablo Neruda, and my fiance has picked something from Rainer Maria Rilke (a writer from Prague). Neither of us is religious, so we want to keep a secular tone to the selection.

Any suggestions from the Pit?

Uhh you read random snippets from books before your friends at your wedding? Weird tradition, I must say. Are you a protestant?

The Wife and I did the whole Unity Candle thing.. thats where you take two lit smaller candles and light a larger one and then you blow out her candle and she blows out yours and then the person/priest declairs you husband and wife and introduces you to the people.

as for reading, Im not to sure on what, but I can write you up some Pegan/Druid vows. =) Since I am a Druid after all. A Druid is like a Priest, I can perform marriages and all that.

The only part I took particularly serious was the "Till death do you part" piece.

The rest will work itself out.

September 5th 2006 will be my "Silver" anniversary. That is something to brag about for my generation. Damned few people stay married anymore.
