I often feel guilty for all the games that I didn't get around to finish. But there are just some games that aren't good enough to keep my interest the entire way through, so I get bored and cannot garner enough motivation to finish them.
Do you always play your games to the bitter end, even when it sucks?

Well I'm more of a console gamer than a PC gamer so the installation
issue isn't of much concern, but generally I do try and beat most of
the games I buy. Often this will take me a long time as I buy new games
that take my interest from another I've yet to complete, but I do
normally get around to going back and finishing them off sooner or
later.

How about adding option #5 for people like me.
5) I have finished every game I had time to.
Up until HL1, I finished every game I ever installed.. I never finished one since, including HL1.

Thought JK3 was even better still.
Usually, if the game is good enough it'll stay installed long after I beat it (CoD, MoHAA, HL)

I only really finish the games I have a real reason to. I
finished HL1 and HL2 without cheats because Im'm kind of obligated
to. I often don't finish the campaigns for RTS games, and on most
FPS' I'll get near the end then turn on cheats until I win.

Only game I've purchased but never beaten are Homeworld and Homeworld
Cataclysm. Last missions on both were crazy difficult. But otherwise,
yeah, I tend to struggle through every game, just to get my money's
worth.

I rented True Crime and it was okay for the first parts... so I kept
playing. The second I started fighting a flying dragon and
mystical chinese demon women, I said f**k this. I thought I was
playing a GTA clone but instead they threw reality right out the window.

Once I start having to pay for the games I may start to beat
them. But I find that most games just start to wear off near the
end. Except Republic Commando, that one was too short. But
anyhoo, I find that once the novelrty wears off, unless it's really
good, it just sort of dies. However, a game like The Elder
Scrolls 3: Morrowind, I've played for years and never really "beat"
it. I like games like that because of their endless playability
gbecause they are so non-linear, and don't really have much of a set
goal at all. You can go and do whatever.
Yeah. mhmm. Last game I didn't beat was Full Spectrum
Warrior. Last game I beat was BattleFront, Tony Hawk's
Underground and Republic Commando. I beat them all aroudn the
same time.

LOL.. I have the first game mentioned here..
But a better poll would be, "How long is the longest time it took you to beat a game"
Took me over 1 year to beat "Starcon 2" The game actually stayed saved on my system that long before I finished it.. I had missed one lousy clue way back in the middle where the Mycon deep children were.. After I visited their homeworld, I never went back cause they were so anti-social I thought their silence was all they could give..
I however, did return and finished the game.. No cheats and in a single play... of over 1 year.

Me, without cheating: about 44. Which is quite low taking that I have well over 150 Video Games occupying my home. (no time for those 30 sum-odd RPGs)

Id probably say ive completed most of my games, SoF 2 etc etc, but i
tend to play endless games now, something that has constant attention
into graphics and gameplay.
I mainly completed things like SoF becuse it allways
had my attention to playing it (heads coming off and all, truely is a
funny game to play). HL i never completed because Xen was such a boring
ass part, i think i ended up using console changemap, to the boss and
just killed him in the end because xen was complete cre-hap.
Most RPG's seem to keep my attention though, things
like Battle for middle earth and Lords of Everquest are good. Things
likes Diablo 2 do boor me quickly, the constant click and hold,
involves no skill and is repetive.
my fav RPG (offline) is a mix between IWD, and
Morrowind. IWD was just a fantastic game lasted a long time but if it
wernt for the fact i played it over lan with KoRn i think that would of
got boring, Morrowind is more of a power abusing game. Takes a little
wile to get any good, but once your around max skill it is kinda silly.
Although using the editor was fun making your own houses to store uber
expensive stuff in.
I now tend to spend my time on EQ2, a nearly endless
and constant fun game to play, something that you very rarely get bored
of. I admit ive had a couple of times were i got bored, but it doesnt
take long to ge back on to it, shame that people think that a tenna a
month is alot of money, i seem to be able to afford it and i dont evan
work (and i dont get pocket money in that matter). its werth using
money from christmas and Birthday on. its not a game where you can
power abuse and kill anyone in site (its completeley non PvP). idea
being that you CANNOT kill the hardest enamy solo, you HAVE to group to
kill it.
Thats what makes it more fun, you actualy have to
work together with people to get anywhere, soloing maybe good exp, but
there is no way you can go and kill the uberest creature there. Capping
the lvl to 50 is a good idea, stops people from constantly lvling,
makes it fun, gives you more to do, and no there isnt just normal
lvling, you get tradeskills (you can make usefull items and stuff x.X).
All realy depends on what kind of game you like, i
prefer to play a game with nice graphics, good game play something I
enjoy and stay active in. Half - Life 2 has lost me in intrest,
completed it played Death match for a wile, but it seems the same thing
over and over again, i probably wont bother playing it untill a few
mods are released, untill then, it stayes where it is.
