I'll have to aquire one of these things.

don't get an x800. It doesn't have shader 3.0, so it'll be worthless in most of the upgoming games.

With this release the 6800 series cards will be dropping in price, and I don't imagine they will be too far behind this new card performance wise. You'd be better off going for a Nvidia 6 series card.

Also seems that you'll need a PCI-E SLI capable mobo to run this new card, as all the current versions are PCI-E only.

very true.. your already seeing the 6800 cards drop in price.

My problem, is I will want the latest technology and I will want to run dual 7800 cards.. I know, why? Games and what not are no where needing that kinda power yet..

I was also reading that Ram companies are no longer producing ram under 1gb.

If only I could cram all that on a lap top I would be happy. =)

i read teh 7800 doesn't give a huge boost in performance for lower resolutions. a couple of Frame more at 1024x768. But when you go up to 1600x1200 teh card really beats everythign out there.

Oh yeah.. they had it on Attack of the Show the other night.. and it really does better under stress.. They had BF2 running and a dynamic nVidia presentation going.. man that thing kicks butt.

I work at MicroCenter, we got one in last week. I cuddled the box. I think our inventory control person was a little freaked at that.

Check nvidia's website, they have a great hi-res tech demo, Luna, that shows off some of the new effects. The hair and translucency are what really impressed me.

Still, I think my 6800GT will hold me for a good bit image

Pricewatch has this card and all are near or above the $600 dollar mark..

/methinks I will get one..

When they drop to under $200
