I'd go as a mapper, seeing as this looks like a very promising mod from
the previous media releases I've seen, but I haven't mapped in a while
really. Plus, I have to get to work on turkeyburgers for
Fortress-Forever.

The team workin on it is filled with a lot great mappers modelers,
texture artists, animators, etc. Bill makes sure we stay on track and
from what I've seen so far everything is top notch. I'm really glad I
joined up. It's hard to choose a mod these days. There are so many
great ones. There is going to be a lot of competition among mods in the
Half Life 2 community.

We mainly need another coder. We have a large team and a coder but with
all thw work we've got it would help out a lot to have a second one. Of
course they are hard to come by. Another animator and maybe another
mapper or 2 would help also.

Don't you already have like 50 people?

To get something to work, sometimes you just have to beat your head against the wall longer; the skin grows back, but the brick doesn't.
Source hates soup!

That map screenshot looks like HL1 tbh, no offence to who did it, but Piranesi looks just as good (From CS 1.5).Message submitted 0 minutes after original post:
I always find it funny how people think coders are more rare than animators...

Something about those screenshots reminds me of Gothic.

Even If you could squeeze so many players in a map for source the game
would still be unplayable because of the lag. The more the laggier. I don't think those guys will be able to pull this one off.

Sure you could create an MMORPG using source, provided you heavily
modified it. Obviously the current netcode is suited to small numbers
of players as opposed to large, and the maps are detailed FPS levels
not large scale RPG settings, but you aren't just going to "up the
player limit" to turn it into an MMORPG. I'm sure the team building the
game (which is a commercial product by the way, if you are meaning the
one I think you do) are making a whole load of changes to the engine to
make it more suitable for their type of game. For example, in HL2DM
there is a lot of detailed information being thrown back and forth over
the net (think of the physics alone!), much of which an MMORPG wouldn't
need to bother with. Rip out some of that stuff and you are freeing up
bandwidth for larger numbers of players, and more stat based
information to be transmitted.
So I guess its gonna be pretty hard for a mod team to pull off anything
like an MMO, there isn't any reason why people who have properly
licensed the engine and are willing to make plenty of tweaks to it
cannot.

Like I already said. Valandil is a team based multiplayer game like DoD or CS. It is not an MMORPG.
