This movie looks like a fun flick.

Fun is the same word used by FY and AIM mappers for CS...

The definition of fun can't be measured on a rigid scale. The people who play those maps may squeeze the same amount of enjoyment from them as you do with your choice of entertainment. Who cares. Sometimes I wan't depth, sometimes I want simple, yet forgettable, entertainment.

My peak is 15mb/s. Maybe it was just a good day, but I"m damn proud of that.

Yar. It was really wierd. I usually peak at 7 or 8, but I guess nobody else was on or something. It was pretty sweet though. I shoulda taken a screenshot to prove it...

Shame. Anyways, that movie is gonna be good friday night entertainment.

I have gotten over 300k out of a 56k modem before. It turns out that if you have a file partially downloaded, and its resumable that it will often appear to connect at a higher rate than possible.

Resumable downloads do not have to "SAY" that they are so, so you may not even be aware you have one.

Internet connections are strictly monitored, its highly unlikely that you had any connection that much over your peak limit.

Course, I have been wrong way to often to be taken as a guru on the subject.

I'm fairly sure that Steam measures its download speeds in bits, not bytes, as Myrk was wondering. So if steam says its downloading at 8mb/s, its likely just 1 megabyte per second (a byte is 8 bits, therefore a 8 megabits = 1 megabyte). As I've nothing to download on steam just now I can't test that, but I seem recall noticing it before.

ReNo is correct on the bits/bytes thing, but 15megabits per second is still damn fast. What speed connection are you on French Toast?

Oh yeah, the film - I don't think I'd be able to take Jack Black seriously, he has and always will be a comedian to me. Film looks like it'll be fun to watch so long as I keep telling myself not to think about how or why any of the story happens.

I have no idea. My dad said put that cable in the outlet, and that's about the furthest extent of my knowledge. I really don't know much since my dad is a computer guru programmer guy who does everything for me while I smile and nod. I know that 15 is a lot though <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

I don't know if this movie will be good or bad. I'd have to see the credits. I need to know who the "Best Boy" is before i make any judgements.

Try Japan, 100mb speeds aren't unusual.

WHAT!>? You guys think this is good? Seriously I'm shocked, especially with you Orph. I mean cumon, King Kong with dinosaurs? Its a load of crap SFX mashed together to get morons to watch a film. I'm disapointed with you both! Deeply...

The original had dinosaurs as well you silly person. :P I think it's fairly obvious Kong's meant to be a prehistoric animal.

Stop being so cyncial, it's a fantasy monster movie. :P

I think it's gonna be kinda like the new Star Wars movies in that you can only enjoy it as long as you go in knowing it's going to be crappy.
