Re: Best...Keyboard...EVER!

I am actually shopping for a wireless keyboard/mouse combo for my wife. I searched newegg but found lots of keyboard with various prices, but they all seem to offer the same specs.
Is there any reason for paying more for some of them? I can't figure it out (other than some of them are OEM packaged). Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a very cheap keyboard. I was forced to use it for a couple of months. I use a Logitech keyboard, usually. Although its kinda posh I somehow got used to it. It is very accurate and defined when it comes to the pressure you need to press a key or the distance between the keys. It was hard for me to use this cheap keyboard, because the keys are set up in a different distance from another. Also the activation of a key is very strange. If I touch a key by accident it considers it self actually pressed. If I touch it with the intention to press the button it considers itself not pressed. This behaviour really pisses me off.
So my advice would be: Look for a keyboard in the middle field. So you have a reliable keyboard but no posh hardware. This very cheap keyboard is just about to break. It's just cheap an crappy.

All the ones I am considering are Logitech keyboards, but the prices range from $24 to $153! I see no reason for buying the more expensive models, but I must be missing something.
Why would anyone pay for the expensive stuff (besides a few extra keys and plugs for headphones)?

No.
I saw this awhile ago and it's one of the most retarded ideas EVER. The only thing that makes the situation worse is that everyone seems to want one ... a $100 keyboard ...
It's this type of thing that really pisses me off about people in general. It's the same with people who "pimp" out their cars by removing the door handles and adding electronic door openers. Way to go jack ass. Sure, it looks cool and the idea sounds cool, but it's a very nonfunctional product.
I bet you'd all like to have a sheet of glass for a monitor too.

I guess it's because of the brand's name, design and a little bit of the quality. I think a cheap logitech keyboard would be fine anyways.

I don't think this is a stupid idea, I think it's a brilliant
idea. A stupid keyboard are the new ones with fingerprint
scanners.

Dunno if anyone has said any of this yet-
Do you guys realise its just an idea? It'll be 10 years or so till its on the shelves and even then we will be using something else, like those sony pads. Plus its a MAC product = Evil. Also you'd have to tell the program the hotkeys, the likelyness of it knowing them is slim.

How is it a mac product myrk? Its made by some independent designers
and works on any platform...or at least will if they make it. They are
planning to have it available in 2006 - I think everybody knows its
just a concept thing for the time being. You shouldn't need to do
anything to your programs - just tell the keyboard to go into "hammer
mode" or "half-life 2 deathmatch mode", and then you can set those
modes so that all the buttons do whatever actions (eg. make e =
ctrl-g). I'm only speculating of course, but there are plenty of
programmable keyboards out there already that do that sort of thing.

Quick question: When was the last time someone looked at their keyboard? Anybody? You can already buy program specific keyboard covers and or keyboards. My old school had an Avid keyboard with all the hotkeys printed on it and colorcoded etc. I can't wait until they're a reasonable price, but seriously... when was the last time you looked at your keyboard?
