That's a good point.
But why can't valve, or any other company create a computer game without such wrong sized breasts. Why just breasts? The whole body is way tooo.... not perfect, but.... strange.
In one way I think Alyx's body is kinda perfect. But in the other hand I think of Alyx's body being way to exaggerated. Hard to tell. I'm used to these exaggerations in computer games. So I can't imagine a game without it - although I don't really like it.
That's weird

How would you know that unless you were talking from personal experiance?
I have a good friend who is just... horrible with girls, all he talks about is wanting sex and how girls dont like him, yet, he wouldn't have sex with a freak of nature. i mean, his standards arn't as high as some one like... me... but he wont "bang" anything. Or so he says...

But you say he's horrible with girls. I think hes afraid like hell. And that's why he keeps messing things up. The most important part is to just relaxe - and be oneself. Just natural.

This thread went all over hell and creation and barely retained a portion of its original intent. Does this seem odd at all?
I thought about starting a poll today while at work. Then I recalled this one and a trickle of sweat rolled down my back contemplating how it would evolve.
I think I will wait for a callous to form before I attempt one.

No, he is a self absorbed fool who doesn't go after things he wants. He thinks too hard and talk about how "crappy" his life is. Its so sad to see, and it would be easy for him to change, only he doesn't try to change no matter how much we tell him to. Becuase he likes being depressed.
This kid told me in so many words that when MY house burnt down it was another bad thing that life delt out to HIM.
So people are beyond help...

nope, seems pretty normal really

remember, as was already stated in this very thread, that evolution is only a theory
I think I will wait for a callous to form before I attempt one.
awww, no fun

I actually think that Alyx's body is quite well-proportioned. Her body isn't like that of Lara Croft or Ada (in Unreal), or Cate Archer from NOLF series, or Valerie Cortez from FarCry.
Lara Croft is the epitome of mal-proportion. Her abdomen is so thin that the only realistic way to achieve that is to have a few ribs resected and a lobe of liver removed.

There is just something a bit disturbing when REAL people notice animated people.
There are so many real women out there to even contemplate a fake one seems a crime.
Some of you need help.

Apparently they're changing the proportions in the next "Raider" game. I don't play the series (because they're very poor games), but, I was like, "hey look ... it's all close to real proportions now *turns the page*"

I don't like big breasts. I prefer smaller ones. Well, average size (c cup) or smaller. with smaller nipples/areolas. This comes from the fact that all the girls I date are always pretty skinny. But mainly small boobs are for me. Only natural ones too. Also, I dated a girl with really puffy nipples and those were kinda cool in a wierd way, but nothing I'd wanna stick with for a long while. And I agree Asian boobs are very nice, I dated a philipino girl who was PERFECT in proportion... aw, forget it.
Edit: Don't worry, fishy, I'm 20 and it's PERFECTLY legal for you to read about MY fetishes!!

I personally disagree with your thoughts in a sense, as a drawn, modelled, or otherwise designed female still has many of the different "components" that make up everybody's individual tastes in women. I'm not just talking size of breasts here either; they can be imbued with personality and a sense of style, in the way they are presented, clothes they have, and so on. Sure, they don't have the nuances and flaws that make real women so interesting, but these "perfectionised" females can still feature the various specifics that appeal to people.
That said, when these characters start getting involved in things like hentai, or "Playboy: The Mansion" style games, or anything that actually attempts to get a rise out of people in the literal sense of the word, it becomes a little creepy

I never played Tomb Rider so I don't really know how she looks. But I guess she would be a much better example than Alyx.
Anyways: The question why the computer ladies have such strange propositions isn't solved jet, is it?
Maybe I should stop asking this question. There probably is no proper conclusion. Because I would might never understand why. /shrugs
I would think of getting professional help. The sooner he gets help, the sooner he can solve these issues.

I think you people are looking in the wrong direction for misproportioned video game heroines. You shouldn't look at supermodels or real girls you know. You should look at comic books. This is what all those concept artists were involved in prior to the advent of highly graphicalized video games. And comics have always been known for women with rather oversized breasts. But this exaggerated sexuality is not limited just to the women, look at the ahnold-style pects and shoulders that adorn nearly every single male.
Why the exaggeration? Is it a representation of loner-inspired hypersexuality? No. The answer is simple - it makes for a more dynamic figure that is more interesting to draw and view. Find your favorite superhero comic cover, and then imagine the characters in the same poses with actual human-shaped bodies. It just wouldn't hold the same compositional merit.
The huge difference: the movement involved with a 3D character has always been kind of blocky, and only recently has the engine technolog developed to the point to where this exaggerated human style of character can even get close to taking on the dynamic poses that inspired the form in the first place. Honestly, a dexterity reminiscient of C3PO is not sufficient to take advantage of the stylized body frame.

Well put! This is true in a number of games, but far too many use the T&A to get more sales or get their game noticed. As a rule I almost never buy a game that has a picture of a non-lead female character who isn't full dressed.
I am almost insulted when developers try and sell a game to my penis rather than to me. I mean girls in all these games always have on booty shorts and torn tank tops, or body armor that covers maybe 15% of their body. It just makes me sick when I see this crap, its like playing a coke add all the girls are great looking and dont fit the setting at all.
