Can't say I'm overly keen on the name to be honest, but I guess longhorn was never really gonna work.

So is Windows Longhorn going to be released as Vista? Windows XP was named "Whistler" and Office XP simply "Office 10", but surely Vista is a new codename isn't it? Hmmmm, well I suppose the whole 2000 and XP and power pro etc. phase has all gone now.
They'll probably go on to start using car names, like "Windows Focus" or "Linux Migan"
And have adverts showing screens scrolling across vast landscapes with no one on them.

I've heard that Longhorn - or Vista - is going to have a 3D desktop...

well let's wait for the system requirements AND I think it will have one HELL of SPY-System included.

The 3D windows view looks very dumb. What's the point? I just don't get it.

I like the idea of a 3D desktop. Even though they haven't done anything particularly useful with it yet (3D windows... meh), I bet that once its out there people will come up with cool new uses that actually take advantage of the 3D aspect in a non-trivial way.

3DNA Anyone? It is an alternative way to run your comp. It is 3D....you have to see it to believe it. It is like the half-life...except the house you walk around in is your computer....you can walk upstairs to the game room....have locked doors to different areas of your computer....click on pictures on the wall to access games, apps.....check it out....pretty cool stuff

Man, those downloads never work! I always end up with 100 episodes of Dragonball with no sound, and I am trying to download Photoshop or something.

I still don't see what all the fuss is about with Vista. I get it, it
looks very nice and all but who really cares about all this nonsense? I
don't want to wait 30 minutes to open my documents because the system
is busy applying complicated reflection and lighting effects to each
icon. I wanna know if it's more bug-free than previous titles (no wait.
this is windows were talking about).
