I'd rather idolize... you know... good guitarists. Like Jimmy Page. And Hendrix. And David Lee Roth. And the guy from Black Sabbath (forgot his name). And the guy from AC/DC (forgot his name). Or Dave navarro (sp?)
Or, almost best of all John Frusciante and Hillel Slovak!!! Wewt!!

I really don't suggest getting the Ibanez that have that type of bridge hookup. You don't notice it in the picture, but they're garbage. You have to cut guitar strings to place them under a small metal block and strew them down. Very ineffective. Not to mention, the second you take a screwdriver to anything, which you will have to, you scratch all the black off. (Unless they changed it of course)
If you want a floating bridge, get one with the bottom entry stuff.
Oh and the best electric guitar ever is the Les Paul (whatever model, It really doesn't matter) They're expensive, but you can get an Epiphone one for almost half the price. (Just because it isn't weighted down by gold). They're solid guitars too. The only thing Gibson, or a Gibson company, makes that I don't like are their acoustics. They sound awful.
Personally, I have an Ibanez AW100, it sounds great. My electric is a POS, it was the first guitar I had too.
I'd love a Les Paul though. And I doubt you'd stay crappy for long if you had one.

Myrk, there are only a select few death metal guitarists that can
actually play. The rest of them just play very simple riffs at high
speeds with tons of distortion and effects so that it sounds like they
can actually play.
Some real Guitar players: Eddie Van Halen, Slash of Guns&Roses,
Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden, Angus Young of AC/DC, Bob Dylan, Jimi
Hendrix, Dan of the Darkness, Lindsy Lohan (haha, not really).
I desperatly need a new guitar. I play a Marshal Rocket Duluxe Fat
Strat. I plays like Charlie of Busted (thats crap by the way).
I'm going for this Ibanez here

I have a Fender subsidiary too! Squire. What a piece of s**t. Anyway, if you have a floating bridge, try making more torque in the springs (on the bottom side of the guitar body under a panel). Otherwise, it's the machine heads, they may need replacing, which is pretty inexpensive.
One thing though, if you own a guitar ... let me be more specific ... if you own an electric guitar: you need to learn how to modify it. Because, it's almost 100% guaranteed that you'll have to repair it as some point. And unless it's a truss malfunction or a broken part of the actual body of the guitar, you can do it your self for less then $20. (Can you believe people pay $15 to get their guitars re-stringed and tuned?!)

What was that story about your nick name again?
That was my point though. If you can't take the 2 minute effort of looking up how to change your strings (the only thing you need to be guided on is the kink you make at the machine head) then you will have no enthusiasm to actually learn to play the instrument.
I think it ranks right below buying "brand name" computers (ie: dell) when you can build a 'better' computer for cheaper on your own. Or building your own cables. Changing your own car fluids. Pretty much all of it ranks with being able to change the strings on a guitar ... now if you don't consider them even close to the same thing: you have some reflecting to do
However, you always have the argument of laziness or "hassle", which, to be honest, is less hassle then making up the lost money at work. Unless you just absolutely love your job of course.

Not any more actually. I was at frys the other day and saw decent linux boxes (don't remember the exact specs, but average current-day cpu, memory, on-board graphics and sound, etc) going for $200. You _can't_ build a computer for that. Add up the cost for case, power supply, mobo, cpu, ram, dvd drive, hard drive, etc and even if you get great deals you won't beat $200.
Its all about economies of scale. The big companies can now buy/manufacture in bulk to bring down prices so much that it outweighs the "HP/dell/whatever tax". These days the main reason for building your own computer is not price, but rather getting the latest and greatest cutting-edge stuff, or simply for the enjoyment of doing it yourself and having complete control over what you build.

I'm not talking about some bargain machine or a refurb at Fry's, and yes, those are refurbs. Also, if they have Linux on them, they didn't have to pay for any extra licensing
The thing I was mainly talking about though was quality of parts. The only "brand" computer I've seen that have anything close to quality stuff is Alienware and those are so overpriced it's disgusting.
What I meant: is if you built the same exact computer your self, it'd be cheaper: bottom line. Also, Fry's is an independent dealer (so to speak). The computer you buy there, if it is built by them, isn't offered at another Fry's. So, what you're saying is the same as comparing buying a new product or finding it on Ebay for half the price. It's strictly on a computer to computer basis and is in no way consistent.
[EDIT]
I didn't notice the onboard video part. Hang on a moment.

Geographically speaking, its the exact opposite of the northern hemisphere. Their location below the equator is about the same as Europe is above. Hence, Winter and Summer are about the same temps, only 6 months apart.

Yeah, quickly back to the guitar repair thingy issue, I can't believe you'd pay to restring your guitar... morons.
I've had to do tons of repairs on mine in the last few years, I restring completely about once every couple months, and have to do a lot of repairs to the gadgetry inside. I've had to resolder stuff because it was done so poorly, and I often have to put things back into place because they twist and get all wierd.
Anyways, I've spent the last few days unpacking and playing BF2 at various places around the house on my laptop
