Oh don't give me that "damn hackers" s**t. MAKE A MORE SECURE SYSTEM.
It's the developers fault that they left a weakness in the site.
I guarantee you the hacker got in by overflowing some sort of input buffer and getting access to the server with root access. Which means they didn't do something as simple as check their input buffer, or limit character input.
That is the owners fault. Because you assume that someone is going to attack it.
Sorry, but I'm getting sick of site owners going, "oh my god!! There are people trying to take over my site!! I never would have thought it would happen". Or People who're all, "My site is 100% secure". They're equally bad mind sets.
It's the price you pay. However, don't think I'm supporting hacking, but security is one of the first things you realize and learn you need and the understanding that it will never be close to 100% (even with something like quantum encryption, there will probably be a way to hack it).
On another note, I always get hacking and cracking confused. One, I think cracking, it legitimate and is rarely used in a malicious way.

Crackers, well prawn crackers are nice. The other crackers can be good
some times, it annoys me when I got GTA3 and had to keep putting the CD
in.

I'm sure there are "good guys" that are in both areas, but, yes, that's what I thought. Just use the term "hacker" out of habit, I think.
Does it really matter though? Both can be equally detrimental.

Yes, though it's akin to phpBB 1.4 (the old versions) and without all the old & new security problems...
