Deleted, as I thought better of it.

Some people are like slinkys...

They aren?t really good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one tumbles down the stairs.

Calling the image from outside the host site.

People ban remote linking on their own servers so people don't eat up all their bandwidth.

For example, you can have a humorous image online, in which gets viewed maybe 20 times a day, which is little bandwidth when you consider an image around 100K * 20 = 2MB/Day, On average that comes out to: 62Mb/Month* Most sites have Gigs of bandwidth per month.

However, if that image is remote linked, that bandwidth still gets used, since the image is still being transfered over that site's connection. If it jumped to 100,000 views a day (which is quite possible) it suddenly becomes 310 GB/ Month* or something in that range.

This of course, isn't exactly accurate, since I used 1000 base, instead of 1024. But, it still illustrates the point.

Anyway, you have to save the image and upload it to your own space if a site doesn't allow remote linking.

*Assumed a month is 31 days

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.
