Would an american graphics card work in a european pc? I'm not up on this electricity hokey-pokey, and I'm not sure if the differences in the mains voltages would mean my computer might catch some sort of fire. Cheers.

Yes, it would be fine.

Of course it'd work. It's not like the card, specifically, uses one type of current in the US and another in Europe.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Let me elaborate now that I have time <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Your motherboard supplies specific voltages to the card, determined by the board. All boards conform to ATX standards of power, otherwise they need specialised power supplies. The PSU will always put the same voltages across the motherboard according to ATX standard. Whether youre on 110 or 240 volts, the output of the PSU is the same (provided its set to the right local voltage).

Even if you use a NTSC card in a PAL country?

Great to see you around again, man. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

I think maybe you'd have to worry about which power supply you were using between Europe and America, but that's most likely it.

Hey Tracer, good to be home. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> Had a lot of trouble getting my broadband connection back, which was the main reason for my absence, along with me not doing any mapping recently.

Appreciate the help guys. Thanks for not mocking my ignorance too much. I purchased an ethernet hub when visiting America before and I brought it home so I could play C&C Red Alert networked. Funky burning plastic smells ahoy! I was almost inconsolable.
