Found out about this game on the SA forums and since it's good, clean fun I thought some of you might enjoy it. I'll just paste the info given in the thread:

Urban Dead is a text-based MMO with zombies in it.

You choose a class and a suburb then get 50 AP to spend. You get 1 AP every half hour so don't waste them. You can attack zombies or humans, search for stuff and move around buildings in a suburb. You can also move diagonally. A suburb is an area in the map with buildings in and the world is made up of 100 or so suburbs.

As a human player you usually attack a zombie then hide in a building. It is advised that you stay inside a building on your last turn unless you want to die. You can also attack other humans but you only get half xp for doing it. There is also a group in the game that will go after humans who kill other humans.

A good start is to choose a fireman and go to one of the goon bases below. Attack a zombie with most of your turns then hide inside. You'll probably miss most of the time, but stick with it. In a day or two you should have 100xp. Go to the 'buy skills' button and buy a new skill, like being able to hit things better. There are other classes to who get xp for healing or tagging zombies, so just try anything until you're happy with a class.

If you die you can be revived, but it's a long process. If you're level one or two you might as well start again unless you want to be a zombie. Zombies are basically invincible but can't enter buildings. As a zombie you either have to smash down barricades or eat on people stranded outside.

It's basically a neat browser based game which you play for about 10-15 mins a day. I think it's awesome, but then again I've an unhealthy fascination with zombies. I have two characters, one human and one zombie. You're allowed 3 characters max, but they can't work together or you'll be banned.

There's about 80-90 zombies from SA who've banded together, calling themselves 'The Many'. We attacked a fortified police station earlier tonight and slaughtered somewhere in the region of 50 people hiding within.

Bear in mind this is only out a short while and features being added and tweaked fairly consistently. It will take a few days to get into it properly and get some good skills, but it's a great waste of a few minutes if you've time to burn like me. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

When creating your character you can pick the suburb you start off in, so any snarkpitters could band together. I'd advise staying well away from Shearbank and Millbrook Heights in particular. (Check the map below) Read the wiki link at the bottom too, it has some very good info.

Yes, it is awsome. Me and a friend have been running around trying to survive for the last couple of days. We're in Burdekin Alley Police Dept in Galbraith Hills atm. If anyone is around, join us. It is a lot easier to survive in numbers.

Sounds awesome, but since I won't have an internet connection the next 10 days or so I won't make a character right now, but later perhaps.
