This is just a guess.
It looks like the programs settings (somewhere, be it in a file or the registry, or the live reading from the card) has an invalid value, thus makes it impossible to initialize. In any case, usually removing the application, completley, and re-installing it will give it a fresh go.
But, that's usually a pain. However, as far as videocard drivers go (yes, video card control centers are part of the drivers you download) they don't release enough information to know how to fix the problem.
I'll give a look around when I get a moment for an initialization error.

Well, I really can't find much, however, that's a pretty common error when people use .NET ... and it just happens that the latest catalyst driver (probably for the control center interface) requires .NET framework 1.1
You can find it here.
If you don't have that installed: that is causing this problem.
Otherthen that, I don't know. It doesn't look like the application is getting back data input, since you reinstalled it all, it should have been fresh. So, this is the best bet at this point.
Did it ever run before? If it didn't, that would have been helpful information.

I get the same error. I think I was trying to install the catalyst
drivers instead of some other ones or something along those lines,
although I never have found what the problem was.

I had some Catalyst error was well. I downloaded the new Catalyst from the ATI site or wherever and it never worked.
Until I figured donloading the new driver from my computer manufacturors' homepage. This still is a sort of Catalyst but a special one made only for my graphics adapter. Now it works.
