Gun Valkyrie and Otagi don't count, they're made by Sega <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_lol.gif"> They look good though ... but they're made by Sega, so of course they're good (Same, with Orta).

Don't care about DOA, 2 on the DC was the best one.
Racing games aren't my taste.
Ninja Gaiden, I heard, was a big let down if you're a fan of the originals
Never heard of Amped, and I though Jet Grind Radio was okay.

Those are just my opinions.

Katamari Damaci is really fun. Has a sequel coming out soon too! (I <3 Damaci)

Alien Hominoid is really fun, not that it's exclusive on any platform.

Actually, have you heard of Okami? It's coming out on PS2, looks very interesting (ICO interesting). I suggest checking it out.

But, if it makes you feel any better, there's only two potential games on any future console I've seen that have my interests peaked at all: MGS4 (obvious reasons) and City of Metronome. Your attacks are sounds you play together and some other weird stuff. It looks really cool. Those are both PS3 titles, however, if that console costs $400-$500, like Sony is saying, then there's no way in hell I'll get it ... even for the most amazing games.

All the "pimping" for the next gen. consoles really hasn't appealed, because they haven't shown games that look interesting. I'm also getting really glossed over with the graphics whoring that's going on.

The thing I think is most interesting, is that, Sega made quite a bit a of money last year. They also have a new president, so I wouldn't be surprised if they started developing another console sometime.

You can love your Xbox all you want though. I like how we can actually discuss it though. Everyone else I've 'disagreed' with actually is very not-understanding about my view. They also seem to think I couldn't fathom why there are fun games on the console, but it's quite the opposite.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Hehe, Sega did play quite a big part in my buying of an Xbox! As a huge Dreamcast fan, the Xbox was the most appealing for a couple of reasons. First off, the obvious controller comparison - MS just ripped it right off and added in some improvements, which I'm perfectly content with them doing as its resulted in the best console controller ever <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif"> Next up was the continuation of some of my favourite DC games - Project Gotham Racing was a great follow up to the wonderful Metropolis Street Racer, DOA3 followed DOA2 with just "more" of everything really, and Jet Set Radio Future as a hugely fun though not entirely successful sequel to JSR/JGR.

Amped is a series of snowboarding games, that unlike most of the competition, goes at least some way toward being realistic. Graphically it was just jaw droppingly gorgeous, it had a huge and great soundtrack, and had a wonderful control system. Amped 2 kinda pulled away from the realism a bit due to adding in butters (the snowboarding equivelant of a manual/wheelie) that lead to rather stupidly huge combos, Tony Hawk's style, but was at times horrendously challenging (in a good way), had bigger courses, and other improvements that make it, to me, by far the best snowboarding game ever made. The sequel for the Xbox 360 is sounding like its going a bit too unrealistic again for my liking, but we shall soon see <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

I did consider picking up Alien Hominid, but it strikes me as one of those games that I'll probably be able to pick up brand new for ?10 or something after a few months. Over the holidays I haven't had easy access to a games shop and while online shops are often cheaper, they are somewhat harder to just spend a while browsing with the same effect, so games like that tend to get put on the backburner for some reason. There is a big mostly second hand games store opened up near my uni flat recently, so I'll look for stuff like that in there sometime. I picked up Extreme G3, Eternal Darkness, Super Monkey Ball and Bloody Road 5 (think its 5? Barely played it) for ?20 in that store - you just CANNOT complain at those prices!

Okami does indeed look awesome - I tend to get drawn in any time something goes for an original graphic style <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> On the flipside, I wouldn't be all that surprised if it never hits the UK shores - all the PS2 games that interest me seem not to! At least I'll have Wanda and Colossus to keep me happy with my PS2 for a while, and I've yet to play God of War which I hear is awesome.

Anyway, Viva la Sega revolutione!

Wanna vote what games will be ported from the xbox to the xbox 360?

Here

Half Life 2 was winning column 1 last time I checked and the 2 i wanted to win in colomn 2 were winning also (Jet Set Radio Future and Morrowind).

Also I will rethink about buying the Revolution because I never knew it was backwards compatible all the way back to the nes :o even though I just use my chipped xbox 2 play all games up untill the playstation one anyway <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">.

Yeah I voted on that yesterday actually <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> My votes...

Column A
Amped 2
Fatal Frame 2
Kingdom Under Fire
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Phantom Crash (*sob*, seems I'm the only one <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif">)

Column B
Beyond Good and Evil (Great to see this getting votes!)
Gunvalkyrie
Jet Set Radio Future
Otogi 2
Panzer Dragoon Orta

I suggest (plead?) that others do similar <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

Yeah i was suprised Beyond Good and Evil was doing so well because I always felt bad for it because for such a great game it was overlooked by many.

Also, I heard they were gunna remake or make a sequel to Final Fantasy 7 for something a while ago, if it turns out to be the PS3 I may consider getting the PS3.

Well I put xbox 260, but i'm actually quite undecided between the two as I won't actually buy one, I don't really play games anymore.

NOW it all makes sense. You're just a Sega man!

I <3 Sega too. But I still wouldn't buy a console for only three or so games.

I'm still having a hell of a time finding old Sega games though ... oh Burning Rangers, I almost had you <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_cry.gif">

Yeah, get this, they changed the name to "Shadow and the Colossus" here. Because, apparently, "Wanda" is Japanese for dark, over-boding, or something. At least that's what a friend tried explaining.

AH should already be dirt cheap, here it was $19.99 new when it came out. It isn't worth more then maybe half that though, since it could have been made with flash <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_lol.gif">
It's still fun. I suppose it is a backburner game though, there's just so many other games coming out that are, well, better.

I'm shocked that there are a slew of games you don't get there. To think, that's how it used to be here on the SNES and such. So many games that never saw our shores. (Super River City Ransom ... RCR but better)

I still think though that there is no "best controller", seriously, it depends on what you're playing. If I'm playing some fighting game (2d or not), I want either a SNES controller or an arcade setting. I can't use bulky controllers that are comfortable ... makes my hands move slow.

I think it's actually interesting when you play certain games with other console controllers (through whatever means). You realize ... they worked really well with the controller they were made for.

I have a copy of Burning Rangers sitting at home ... along with panzer dragoon saga. I don't know why I'm telling you this because I'm still banking on getting my Saturn fixed (and therefore I'm keeping the games until then)... I just don't know how or where. Basically I think the internal battery is shot... can't save games anymore.

Edit: Ooh can't forget Dragon Force... I love that game.

I know you already have it ... bastard.

By the way ... it'd probably be cheaper just to buy another Saturn. I picked mine up for under $20 (USD). Found two memory cartridges too! Take a look on ebay ... cheap stuff.

I don't understand some people's "computers are better period" attitude, sometimes. Just because ignoring the Console world of gaming limits you to only about 40% of the games. My favorite games are NOT natively on a computer

Yeah I guess "best controller" isn't really a good term to use, but I find it the best all round controller for my gaming tastes. I play racing games as much as any genre, and there is simply no debate that the Xbox controller is the best of the bunch here with its huge analogue triggers (without going into steering wheels or those obscure PS1 jogcon/negcon controllers or anything). The S controller is a nice scaled down version for beat em ups, but I prefer the bigger one for comfort. Other system's controllers have their perks too - 4 shoulder buttons on the PS2 pad is very nice for some games, and the gamecube's unorthodox button layout is really quite intuitive for many games (though that tiny d-pad has reduced me to tears!) - but all in all the palm filling original Xbox pad gets my vote. The long cables and cable release system are just icing on the cake - the length of wires on some other systems (*cough* dreamcast, gamecube *cough*) is just a farse to be honest, might as well just put the buttons on the bloody console itself <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

I get the name change for Wanda and Colossus - its really not a name particularly suited to western markets. Wanda is a, albeit rare, female name, and doesn't really suit a male protagonist. "Shadow" on the other hand is a somewhat cool word that is never going to stop people looking at a game like Wanda might, but may pull others in just by sounding cool.

Amped 2's tweaked controls certainly do take some getting used to and they also put off a couple of my amped loving friends, but due to the added "style" system it was really a necessity. The analogue sticks and triggers are put to more gentle use than I've seen in any other game in Amped 2 - if you make smooth movements and don't go to the extremes you rack up mega points in style bonuses.

Sega has always had short cables. At least they're not as short as the Genesis. Christ, What are those? MAYBE 3 ft.

I've never had an issue with the length of Game Cube controllers. They're long enough for me. I think they made the DPad tiny to discourage it's use in games (from the developer end, maybe?)

I really, don't like the size of Xbox controller. The DreamCast was too big too, but at least all the buttons were in reach. But, I'm sure it's suited.

I think the PS2 controller (specifically, because it has pressure sensitivity) is really good for action/adventure type games. The GC controller is just ... really nice. I remember the first time I saw it, which was when I first hooked up the console, my words were, "What the f**k?". After playing for about five minutes I absolutely loved it. The only draw back is that it's such a unique design that the game really has to keep it in mind. Which is why I wouldn't really buy Multi-Platform games for my GC.

However, I think my favorite system is still the Dreamcast. It's just got great games. Or maybe the SNES. I <3 them both.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Everybody I know prefers the S controllers for xbox over the original one, which is fine by me because no one ever wants to play with my controller when we have linkups. Although I prefer the Playstation (not analogue) controller over any others for fighting games.

I hate the X-Box S-controllers. Sure, the button placement is more logical, but it's hellishly small. Now the regular gigantic X-Box controllers... I love 'em! It's like holding a Dreamcast in your hands; a real man's controller, baby. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

I have fairly big hands, but I don't like the stretching feeling... like I was grasping a football. I like having a relaxed grip.

Keep your mind out of the gutter please.
