Pretty interesting, well, for something that's free. I can easily see myself get tired of this, but for now it's fun. Basically you are a human survivor, roaming around the city - but there are also zombies who try to kill you. When killed, you will turn into a zombie, and fill their countless ranks. There's also various skills and stuff to learn.

What I like about it is the casual-ness of it all. You only get about 50 action points per day, which slowly regenerate, ensuring that it will only take a few minutes to do whatever you want and then log off. It's different, say, from a certain epidemic called WoW.

Oh, and if you find yourself near Vinetown, ask for Frigg.

I created a profile.

T Boardman. My character is a Firefighter. I'm in Raines Hills. Don't really know what I should be doing in this game... I have a feeling I will die pretty quickly. But who knows...

Edit: I managed to attack a Zombie down to 8 hp before having to hide in a very strongly barricaded firehouse. The random dice rolling was actually fairly exciting. I also managed to find another Axe and another pair of Wirecutters. Which makes me wonder, what can I do with extra items... and what do specific items do? Is there a resource somewhere with this information?

Try the Wiki: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Main_Page

I found a bottle of wine in a church. Not sure what I should do with it either, short of drinking it... <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

That link helped a lot.

I chose Firefighter because I have an affinity for them in real life, and I just found out that according to that wiki they're one of the easiest classes to play!

Oh and CJ apparently Wine heals 1 HP when you drink it.

I found an item list with descriptions 2/3rds of the way down this page: http://www.geocities.com/tenk_axeshigh/1help.html

But if this is your thing then I guess this is for you.

Looks... exciting. :P

Brings me back to what little D&D I played <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif"> And reminds me of a pen and paper RPG a few friends were playing called something along the lines of 'Curse of Cthula' that was made in the '20s or '30s, and set in that time period. It had some nifty illustrations. I might make a character later.

Haha!
I was runnin around with my medic, looking for survivors when i stumbeled across one of those zombies, emptied my pistol ammo on the darn thing and then spent the rest of my actionpoints punching the zombie but he didnt die ^_^.
I hope that no one kills my medic before i get the chance to run away...

Yeah its usually not a good idea to spend time outside of barricaded buildings. I would go back in an 2 hours and use the 4 AP points you get to enter the nearest barricaded building.

Many building seem to be so heavily barricaded it's impossible to enter them. I was lucky and found a not too overly barricaded factory to stay in.

Is there any upper limit to how many action points one can have?

I'm still in Chancelwood (which is 4 up and 4 across from Lukinswood.)

Since my last turn I heard that there is a group of 30-50 zombies marauding about in Chancelwood. So far the Hospital I'm hiding in hasn't been hit, but if it does I'll make my way to Lukinswood and meet up with you two. If my hospital isn't raided, I'm going to continue to try to level up here. Only level 2 right now.

That is so cool. I just wish that moving around didn't use my actions up.

for more cool little RPG things. go to www.dimebowl.com/misc and DL the cow1 and cow2 .zip files for Castle of The Winds. you'd think it'd be retarded, but it's really addictive and fun.

I'll be waiting for you otzman.

PS why do i miss so much when I shoot? (or even punch) its just a waste of my action pts.)

Nickelplate, read these guides: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Category:Guides

They are extremely helpful. I didn't know my ass from my elbow in this game before reading the wiki and now I feel like I have a gameplan.

The short of it is until you reach level 2 and get a chance to improve your pistol skill, you're going to be hard pressed to hit zombies. You'll probably have to stick with it for a week before you level.
