I do the same thing OtZman.
The site is back up and blazing fast compared to how it was this past
week. It could also be that its 3:47 AM on a Wednesday morning.
My soldier is level 8 (and like 70 points away from a level and bargain
shopping!). It was awesome, I killed 3 zombies in 1 turn.
At least 2 of them had full health and 1 had a flak jacket (which was
annoying). I burned through all my shotgun ammo but I still have
plenty of pistol clips.
My firefighter is level 9 now, and once he hits 10 I'll pick up bargain
shopping. That's the last useful skill (I refuse to use headshot
with any of my characters, its so annoying as a zombie). I may
pick up tagging for the amusement factor.
My zombie is still level 1 and but I managed to get about 10 XP my last
50 moves. I really need Lurching Gate... I burn so many APs just
walking. I'm only about 48 xp away from getting it so thats good
I guess. I'm wandering around Nichols Mall in Stanbury Village
and I was shocked to see how many zombies are there with me.
Literally around 80 zombies mobbed in a four block group. I can't
even imagine attempting to wander in there as a survivor. At
least now as a zombie I know I'll gain 50 AP without dying
overnight. Finding food will be another matter entirely....

Meh, my guy died in 15 minutes on the streets, and not even in a particularly dangerous neighborhood...

Well, I've hit the limit a couple times but I just have to keep myself
from checking the status of my characters ever couple hours like I used
to.
I actually wish I hadn't started this zombie character. I think
I'll abandon it if it remains as hard to level up. What I'll do
is take one of my human characters and save up ~1,000 XP and then let a
zombie eat me, or maybe I'll jump off a roof. Anyway -- I'll come
back as a zombie with a flak jacket, bodybuilding, diagnosis, and
enough XP to buy all the skills I need to do well. It'll probably
be less frustrating and if I ever want to be a human again the options
still there.
The hardest part of having 3 characters is keeping it clear in your
mind how many APs each has and where they're holed up and which skills
each already have.
Are you thinking of creating a zombie? If so, definitely go the
path I described above, its so much easier when you think about it (no
getting headshotted and losing XP).
I've noticed the new feature too. When you run out of turns as a
zombie you get a message along the lines of "You can't think anymore"
or "Too tired to think." It's pretty cool.

Anywhere in particular where we're meeting up again? I notice everyone's left the police station. Where to next?

I'm making it my goal to get bargain shopping and then hit the mall
directly north of the police station. That's what I'm
doing. I'm trying to get enough ammo to build up 10 levels worth
of XP before joining the zombies.
I realized that (high level) zombies are more fun to play as because there is an actual goal. Taking over the entire city.
Since zombies can't be permanently killed, when a survivors kills a
zombie it pretty much means nothing. But when a zombie tears down
barricades with 70 friends and eats everyone inside... there's a
tangible swing in the balance of power in Malton...
Eventually -- the city will be so overrun that new players cant survive
long enough to fight back... and the game will become incredibly
difficult. How sweet would it be to have only 1 human controlled
area in the game, that's continually fending off zombie raids....

Wonder how many human players and how many zombie players there are.

It's a very useful skill, just don't stay where you're not wanted. Sometimes very heavily barricaded buildings are host to some paranoid and violent hermits.
I haven't been PKed yet, but I've had to ask nicely to stay a few times.

Some asshole spraypainted over my "Stay out or get shot!" message with "Everyone is welcome to stay here!"... so many people are going to pay for that...

3 zombies had made it into the building I was in and the barricade had
apparently been torn down, so I killed one of them and hurt another one
before I found another building to hide in. Leveled up to level 2 and
bought advanced pistol training.

It wasn't a police station I was in. I think it was a NecroTech
building because in the building description it said that there was
NecroTech logo on one of the walls.
I'm in Kempsterbank by the way.
So, how's it going for the snarkpit alliance?

I just killed two zombies and leveled up, now on level 3. I bought the free running skill. Useful.

Well my level 9 firefighter got caught outside when the servers went
down today. When I finally managed to log back on he was
dead. Luckily I had about 280 XP so I immediately bought lurching
gait and vigor mortis. So now I guess my firefighter is a level
11 zombie.
My other zombie finally leveled (to 2!) and I increased his chance to hit.
My marine is still searching for ammo in the mall. He's level 10
and almost has 100 xp. I'm going to save up at least 500 xp with
him (if I can) before dying and coming back as a zombie.
My final gameplan is to have 3 zombies scattered near Ridleybank
(although not working together) to help out with the general human /
zombie ratio.
