Apparently it went Gold recently, and PC Gamer US have given it 70%. Comes out on the same day as FEAR, 18th october I think.

I wonder if anyone was actually looking forward to it that much?

Quake 4? YAWN worthy if you ask me. I'm bored of quake and UT style games. I want something different.

Quake 4? Nah... I'm not so in that uber-tech style anymore. Like Andrei, something fresh and new sounds much better to me.

Plus I don't play a lot of multiplayer (only a little HL2DM now and then), I'm a singleplayer fan. Does Quake 4 has singleplayer?

Bored of plain old FPS games, even found HL2 a little repetitive, which is why BF2 was so appealing and why I am interested in FEAR. Anyone know what sort of scores FEAR has been getting?

Hello there.

I like Single Player better unless i am at a LAN.

Q4 better have some sort of single-player

but it probably doesnt

I hate all these mutiplayer-only games nowadays.

What happened to the beauty and art of game design? That's why I primarily make single-player maps. It's all about getting into the head of the player and play psychological games with him.

I like messing with people's mind, because I have a pretty twisted one myself. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

"single player" as in Q3 or as in Q2/HL...?

People are awfully quick to jump to conclusions :P Quake 4 has a full blown single player campaign as well as Quake 3 style multiplayer. And as one of our resident mappers (Andrew "KungFuSquirrel" Weldon) worked as a level designer on it, I think thats extra incentive to check it out <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

I always liked games like quake and UT better anyway...

i hate games like MOHAA where you cant run or jump and you run out of stamina and u have to reload and crap... arena-nonrealistic is best for me

being able to jump 10FT always rocks.

You must miss the long-jump module from HL1 then. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

I can't wait for Quake because lately I have played far to many "realistic" shooters lately. Although I am a bit of a sissy and the singleplayer may scare me too much .

I'm also looking foward to Quake Wars: Enemy Territory. Just saw the preview yesterday.

Quake 4 has a SP campaign. It's where you're "part-monster" to combat the evil threat or some garbage. Looks pretty though.

I'm sure it'll be a good LAN game and will have memorable (id style) moments in the SP.

As for that MoH comment ... try playing the game before you say something silly like: you can't jump. Not sure if you're talking about the original, AA, or PA. Which are all completely different.

I don't think I've ever had a problem with reloading at improper times. You always have to take a break behind a corner to reload ... The only thing that was a complete pain in the ass was Sniper City in AA. Jesus.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

I just found a Quake 4 sp video on a cd. Yeah looks like you become one of them. But wouldn't they put a mind control thing in you so you wouldn't turn against them or something? It would be cool to fight with the bad guys against the marines, maybe the I wouldn't get so freaked going up a dark corridor. Although it doesn't look like it because the player is fighting an alien spider-battleship thing in a part of the preview. I wonder how then the marines would notice you and not kill you on sight then if that is so.

I've been playing a lot of Operation Flashpoint online lately. I just LOVE how realistic this game is. Nothing more fun than 5 soldiers embarking a CH-47D only to be tossed into a building by the n00b pilot or cussing at your driver because he drove your tank into an obvious enemy ambush.

The only FPS currently worthy of attention is STALKER: Oblivion Lost (aka Shadow of Chernobyl) which not only looks great but sounds original aswell.

As for MOHAA...one of the best games ever made.

[edit]

Oh, and Flashpoint 2. But I can hardly call it a FPS. I'd rather call it a combat simulation.

I loved the book, I hope that the game will have atleast some of its athmosphere. The book has so much potential in it.

Quake 4 is amazing, and im losing my patience to have it, i want it NOW lol..
I like the idea that you turn as a monster against both your allies and your enemies, you're on your own dude, hehe , its really nice, plus the graphics is sweet !!Apart from the guys who said it sucks, i really disagree,
but everyone has his own opinion
