That... should be enough to incriminate you, Andrei... <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">

But I agree with your statement: I'd rather see Hammer fixed good than some new game. Props still show up black now and then in-game, too...
It's a good idea to release updates instantly, but the way it is going now I think they either need to test updates much more extensively, or provide a roll-back option for people... (one roll-back so there's max. 2 different versions in the run at the same time)

That's another issue. Try refreshing your SDK content and it should work. I had this problem a long time ago as well.
No, the issues i'm talking about are the displacement alphas that don't work, the detail sprites (aka grass) that don't show-up anymore, the fact that hammer crashes when trying to select a keyword in the texture browser...should I go on? ok, the random crashes, the bugged sound browser, the dead entities...what else? the black prop thing , the fact that it crashes when orienting light_spot entities etc etc etc. Ok, I'll be generous and say the crashes, random or not, are one issue. Then there's still a butt-load of 'em left anyway.

Ow, thanks, I'll try that when I'm home.

I have the dismap alpha bug too (though now that I'm using custom textures in my map, they sometimes show up correctly, and when I'm hiding certain entities they show up good too, but only from certain angles...).
I don't have the crashes (except for when I played HL2DM, Hammer crashes when I go back to it if I left it open) at random though.

It sounds like there's a lot of problems, not really pinpointed to certain system specs and all. Some have trouble, others haven't. I do not see any consistency in them but they sure are annoying... smiley

It would have been great if I were the only one having these problems.

Dang, the new Steam UI doesn't seem to have the refresh option anymore...

Delete local game content, then.

Its hardly like releasing Rag Doll Kung Fu (a game made by NON-VALVE EMPLOYEES) has meant they don't have the resources to fix the hammer issues - these things would be handled by entirely different people even IF this game was made by Valve. Its also hardly as if Source/Havok is the only code pairing that can result in ragdoll physics - its possible this is a mod, but its not the most likely conclusion. Dozens of other games, many before HL2, used ragdoll physics. Source isn't the first engine to implement Havok either.

This is a standalone game, and it makes absolutely no difference whether it uses the source engine or not. It is using Steam as a distribution method, as an alternative to going through the usual retail method. $15 is NOT a lot to ask for a standalone game, and is in keeping with new budget titles that come out for ?10 or so in the UK and aren't worth batting an eyelid at. If you are gonna get angry at game prices, doing so at budget ones like this is hardly the best way to go about it.

Oh, I thought it was valve-made seeing how a valve representative announced it a few months ago...i'll STFU then. (but I still think the hammer issue ought to be top-priority)
