Actualy, I've often thought that if I learned all the mechanics needed
for good enemy unit Ai and stuf, I have some good ideas for a SP map.
But, that takes a lot of effort and...

I liked SP and still do, but the ammount of time I'd had to spend on a
SP map is just too much compared to how much it would be played. I am
planning to do a mappack after my current project but I'm still
somewhat unsure about it. Maybe...

Uhm... since all the mods I work for ARE actually based on DM... well, I'd go for that.

Looks like I am one of the very few to favor Op4. Must be another example of why it failed to capture the attention it deserved. It truly had some of the best weapons I have used in HL.

DoD:S, which means i voted other.
the models and textures are so nice, that i may find it hard to map for anything else now that i've had a chance to mess around with them.

DoD was really nice to map for. Just the setting really allows your imagination to go wild, compared to previous hl related stuff, going older was really refreshing.
OP4 was a great game. I hated the DM. I didn't much like HL1 DM either. Depended on the map really. However, DM was the easiest one to just start mapping for. You could customize it for a mod later.
But, yeah. DoD.

I think building a map where everything is broken, war-torn, and in
disarray is very appealing. But then again, its kind of hard to
make the maps not blend together.
Everything just seems to be rubble...

Counter Strike Source. I don't play HL2DM much and I don't know many people in HL2DM willing to host my maps. Most probably because many other people have made better maps than I, and HL2DM people seem to have a higher expectations for maps. Plus I don't play HL2DM because it is harsh on dial up.

I usually map for CS. My maps are usually based on real-world locations, and lend themselves to CS more than deathmatch. Once I get my greasy mits on DoD:S, I'll probably migrate to that.

" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif"> SP maps are WAY to time consuming. They are only for the real full
time mappers!

Lemme tell you the truth, I can't choose, both are fun to map although CS:S has more models " SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">
CS:S gets more popularity than HL2DM but I prefer to map for HL2DM because you can create a map that doesn't need a working layout, it can be a huge wasteland with spawns everywhere and CARS!

definately paroxysm. you could think up so many great objectives for the co-op team to accomplish, and the setting suited my mapping style/theme perfectly. i keep looking for a similar HL2 mod to join, but dont find it.
