Hey All,
the ps2 version of HL1 has a pak file on the cd. I extracted a map from
the pak file I wanted to convert since it doesn't exist anywhere beyond
the ps2 disc.
the problem is, it is a .bs2 file....not bsp.
This is the only page I found i nreference to my problem:
http://www.svencoop.com/forums/printthread.php?t=21565
I tried renaming the .bs2 file to .bsp but still doesn't work. You would think the structure would be similar.....any ideas?
Thank you all so much for your time.

Why would you want the maps from the PS2 version of HL2?

So you just want to check out that map? Then can't you run it with an
emulator and play it from the console? Or doesn't the PS2 version
support alphabetical input in the console or such?

As habboi said, it is HL1. Also, there is a deathmatch map in it called Waypoint. Waypoint was a DM map for the PS2, and was not released for PC users. It doesn't LOOK like anything special, but a buddy and I played that map for hours and hours and HOURS....so it is kinda like the premier map for us to duel on. Having it on source would be the sweet. Fun memories. Anyway....
I don't just want to check it out. I want to convert it to source. and play it through Steam with some buddies (like any other DM). I tried going to emulator-zone.com and downloading a couple of PS2 emulators but I couldn't figure out how to use them. I made an image of the disc, but they still wouldn't run the image. I ahve used many emulators (for gameboy, NES, SNES, N64, etc) but couldnt figure out how to set it up.
Having said that, am not looking to get the game emulated, just this map converted so I can get to town on it. I even tried opening er up in notepad.....that was a mistake.....all gobbelty gook. It is a 800kb file.
Again....thanks for any help you guys!
