I have a quick question about putting two SATA hardrvies in RAID 0. DO i need the same exect drives, down to the brand name and everything? I know i need the same size and RPM, but what about brand name?

As far as I know, it has to be set up with identical drives (same brand and model).

The disks should be identical.
I think you CAN do RAID 0 without having identical disks but there should be lots of stability loss. Using only similar disks is therefore out of question.

Uh ... what? Not that I know of.

If that were the case there wouldn't be any motherboards that supported SATA + PATA raid. image

Look in your motherboards specifications if it needed to have identical drives, it'd say so. (You can also, more importantly, look up the chipset you have online and check what IT requires)

But, I really doubt it.

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Wouldnt it just resolve to using the lower settings of each drive?
