I was about to say that.....
But congradulations on the new car!!! Only problem I have with it is the fact that its an automatic, you just cant beat manual transmissions (There is nothing more satisfyling than pulling the car through its gears, and really "driving" it)

In auto news, I just put the new front suspension on my 1967 cougar a few days ago. It's going quick now...

Nice car, bewbies. Don;t change from the automatic, it's not an easy conversion. Not only do you have to get a whole new transmission, but a clutch assembly, cables, kickdowns and in some cases even a new carburetor or EFI intake system. Most likely you would need a new driveshaft too.
Bringing the grand total to about $2000 or more, probably, since you live in CA.

Most ppl don't know how much is involved in a tranny switch.

I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose.

Don't forget the electronics, you have to trick the car's computer into thinking its an automatic transmission (although with this old model I dont think it will cost too much in this case). I never said to change it to a manual (nor did anyone else), but we are just saying the fun factor (even fuel economy and repairs) of a manual is far superior than an automatic transmission.

Good point, but a 1982 chevy small-block is a throttle-body setup and doesnt use a computer. If it did, add another fe hundred to the cost.

That particular model rides like a tank. It may be a chick magnet, but then again, the type of chick's it draws isn't particularly the kind you take home to momma either.

I always favored the 60's models. Much nicer and still a chick magnet.

A 1969 Camaro beats the 82 in every way. Looks, style and chick magnet. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif">

You do know, of course, that the CLASSIC camaros cost about 10 times as much as the 80's?

Do you really want girls that like you for your Camaro, anyway?

Hey, don't underestimate the utility of an automatic transmision. It makes many things easier! You can eat, rest your hand on your girlfriends thigh... I like having a hand free, even if the manual is more fun.

Some people are like slinkys...

They aren?t really good for anything, but you can't help but laugh when one tumbles down the stairs.

I agree completely! My 1967 cougar has an automatic transmission. And the 1951 ford truck that i'll be restoring next will most likely be auto too. I may keep the truck all-original, though. I dunno yet..

As for having a GF... an automatic transmission is not gonna make one appear in my car...

Hmm, could it be because they are worth it perhaps?

Yep, its called skill and good timing lol. My momis the champion when it comes to driving and multitasking, she drive a manual and she was on the phone with me one day while she was doing her makeup. She does that stuff all the time. Ya just gotta know howto control your wheel with your knees mostly <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">
