Its impossible for me to count ATM because of this stupid Steam thing but, I am nearly positive that the United States far exceeds the rest of the world presently in members joined in this adventure of Mephs.

If someone has the time and inclination could they post the totals please.

As of right now, out of 48 people total:

23 are from the United States
3 are from Canada
2 from Australia
1 from India
1 from the Middle East...

leaving 18 from Europe.

Any chance you could delete me from the map Mephs? I'd like to change my location - Mapcore just started one of these and I found I can add myself to my actual home town <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> Wouldn't mind trying to get my photo back on too. Sucks that you don't create an account or something in order to let you go back and edit things.

I don't want an account, hate registering for everything on the whole god damn internet.

Also, why is it that Google earth is good quality, but google maps is crap? Check out plymouth on google earth and you can zoom right in on my house. On google maps plymouth is a giant greeny brown blur...

I think it has a lot to do with when the picture was taken. Technology now is a bit better.

I zoomed in to where I live. The picture is obviously old because some key landmarks are missing. I know this because its sparsely populated enough to recognize building placement. The shot was probably 2 to 5 years old.

Just a theory.

I don't think that is his concern though - it's the fact that both services are run by Google, yet one is of much higher quality than the other. Around my area both seem identical, haven't really done comparisons elsewhere.

I'm hidden behind dietz, you have to zoom in over Texas to see my pin. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif">

BTW, Myrk-, I love your old avatar. It roxors the pants off of all who gaze upon it.

Australia-2
UK-1
US-2
Finland-1
Lebanon-1
Canada-1

Map is looking nice Mephs. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

My pin's exact location is actually two streets east and five streets south of my house, in a church parking lot. This thing is pretty accurate! though with the google earth thing you can see the van in my driveway and the broke-ass Subaru station wagon parked in the street. And because of the Subaru I can tell the picture is at least two years old, and it was taken in the winter since the grass is kind of brown. With google earth you can zoom in further, and it's a higher resolution because of that. In this the van is about 3x5 pixels, in Google Earth it can get to about 10 times that big.

I only consider people from the Far East Asians. Residents of Iran or other neighboring countries are considered Middle Eastern by me. We have completely distinct culture and language.

China, Korea, and Japan form the core of Asia. India has its own subcontinent, and they have their own unique culture.

wouldnt do dundee?? it even came up with inverness, scotland for me which is significantly smaller.

[edit]

wait a second.... it let put up my location as inverness but put the pin in glasgow.

$keme lives 1 town away from me.... how odd. I've never even met him. Also, I like how it stuck my house like a mile away from where it really is...

Really? Why?

I have been in the Half-Life scene for 6 years or so. I have never met anyone else who maps. At least not face to face. I am betting that there is someone within this new town I currently reside in who knows the game, yet...
