That's what I noticed too. However, I still received damage when I wandered into the open water. Those little fishy things hurt me, even with the commentary on.

I guess it's necessary so I don't go to the edge of the map and hit the skybox. Playing games isn't the same when you have mapped.

Zip remains empty. Anyone else care to try and determine if its on my end or not?

I replayed it, without the crashing. And tbh, I think the best thing was as many people have said already, the commentary.

I assume with the release of Lost Coast we get HDR in HL2 and the SDK, no?

no, it won't be added to HL2 as it supposedly requires map specific things and nobody is going to remake all the HL2SP maps just for some bright lights

[sidenote]Wil5on, an Athlon 64 3000 is below 2 Ghz. Clock speed is 1.8 Ghz, I believe, but they're not checking for pipelining and stuff, so don't worry. It'll run. smiley[/sidenote]

If your specs are too low, then HDR isn't activated at all and this level blows. smiley

Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

But what about the SDK? Anandtech said you'd have HDR in the SDK when Lost Coast came out. I can't find any info on this.

Not really. I mean, you do need a relatively new video card, but not a uber-machine per se.

My specs:

Athlon 3200+ Barton

Radeon 9800 Pro

1 GB dual channel memory

And it runs pretty smoothly on my machine. No crash, no hiccups. In fact, I get framerates between 20-30 most of the times.

For UnderDog, here is a IGN thread that has some nice screenshots, if you can't open the .zip file.

For UnderDog, here is a IGN thread that has some nice screenshots, if you can't open the .zip file.

My thanks but 5 minutes after clicking the link the page was still loading. I am not sure what was on it but it must have been massive.

I will just sit on the sidelines and enjoy the text.

(and yes, the page was loading, the connection was not broken)

[edit] I think I figured out why Habboi's link failed. My download manager knew that only a complete fool would download 11.5 megs worth of images. I shut it off and attempted to download the old way and got this:

Apparently, it knew me better and refused to download it, as it knew I would too.

BTW, extra points for Valve for finally settling the Catholic-orthodox conflict by creating the ultimate church; a church of both religions. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/evilgrin.gif">

No, seriously.

Interestingly enough, there's a real-life "Lost Coast". It's quite beautiful.

But read the photogallery comment, especially the one about the shotgun shell. It's too funny to think that the Combines have been there already.

Made an album of LC screen shots.

Specs: Everyhting high, 2xAA, 4xAF, full HDR.

http://photobucket.com/albums/v613/HL2photo/Loast%20Cost/?sc=1&multi=19

I averaged 20-40 FPS, with some spots that would run under 10 fps. I have a 64 3200+, 1GB RAM, and a 6800 128 mb vid card.

the hdr dont work for me and I have it set on full in the settings I think it might have something to do with the glitch since they released DoD where I carnt run any hl2 game in fullscreen cos it reboots my pc. I have done all the stuff that valve has sugested on the support section yet none of it works.

You know, as of yet no one has said. How big of a download are we talking about?

I'd be willing to commit a dozen nights or so.
