Since we are in the middle east, it barely rains, it was very rainy
before 10 years, but now, pollution and humidity overcome the nice
rain...
Here is the interesting stuff my country does:
Some times, in winter, we would see large thunderheavy rain clouds
pass over Dubai, we always wondered how, its strange to have these kind
of storms here, and every week, in the last winter, it should rain,
heavily, except for 2 weeks which only clouds were flowing above us...
After winter finished, everyone knew why it rained, and it really surprised me..
Every week, the government launches a machine, that gather the clouds
somehow, i think using technological gadgets to condense the wet humidity around
it, they launched 10 machines, 2 didn't succeed, thats why only clouds
were flowing above us for 2 weeks without raining, each machine, costs
half a million dollars...
Its really surprising, but now its normal for everyone in Dubai, hehe...

I remember sitting on the bus on my way to my Karate when i looked out the window and it was almost pitch black out there, at 6:40 am.
It hadnt been anything near that darkness only one week ago, but its always been like that here in Sweden.
Strangely enough, it havent started to get cold yet, 15 C right now.

I really dislike the dark and cold, so I hope I'll be able to move somewhere warm and nice someday.

Over time agriculture and population changed the temperature. (Cut down trees and adding homes increases the temperature) So, now it doesn't snow in most elevations ... er ... populated elevations. Mostly just rains ... like right now ...
Also, the Pacific Ocean is relatively warm, so that's another reason. The only time it actually snows is if we get some pressure from Canada and Alaska. I'm pretty sure the reason the East coast gets snow like crazy during Winter is because of the Atlantic. But that's a guess. (It's because most of the states are smaller there and more populated than here. Also, a lot of it is around the same elevation, so it'd have to be the ocean, right?)
Then again, Winter doesn't begin until late December
And yeah, it's summer in the southern hemisphere.
But, that doesn't stop you Aussies from saying what WINTER is like.
Crazy southern hemisphere ... with your moon in the wrong direction.

Winter in sunny Southern California is not much different from summer, or from any other season for that matter.
It's already November, and it's 85 F today (30 Celsius). It's sunny throughout winter, and it never gets too cold. I still wear shorts in January.

It's same here in Finland. I walked into a tree(no I really did) last weekend when I was on my way to the sauna...

so far it hasnt been that bad in scotland. not much rain, temperatures were not mild but not cold. it was a bit windy today but other than that its been pretty fine.
im sorry but i have to argue. the donner party traversed from Independence through all the states across Nevada. then through the Sierra Nevada, is where they encountered the huge snowstorm, which is in California. but since oregan is realtivly close to california you could have been merely comparing the two.
i apoligize but im in a quite argumentative mood today!

Personally, I heard it was all Blitzens fault. However through a typographical error someone switched Donner's name instead.
On a more refreshing note, the pass known as Donner's pass, the gap between California and Nevada is where the Donner dinner took place. " SRC="images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

This will be my first winter in Van Buren. I don't know what its like just yet. The winters in Dallas are a bitch. Mostly ice. Some freak of nature causes the jet stream to pause just above Dallas so its cold as hell but not very thick. it rains on top of the cold and scatters ice all over the place.
I hope its different around here.
