..Ok Im sure this belongs in Maps, or half-Life 2 editing, or something, but what I am wanting to know is if anyone can help me wth some textures and a sound file, and how I get them to be part of the map when I do that compile thing. I have not made a map is so very long I forgot everything it seems..

Here is the map I am working on for a clan.. ( http://thepryde.com/4hmap.htm )

Its in dev textures at the moment, because I am not sure how to texture it, or how to get the custom textures to work.

As for the Sound wave.. I had a cool one, but I cant seem to find it. dang it.. and its hard to find a good looping techno sound track, that I can use.

Does anyone have some cool props that can be used in a map like this?

Oh how do I restrict weapons in HL2 ( CS:S ) and give people a degale, and armor an ammo each round? I guess I need to strip everything forst and then give.. how tho?

As for custom textures, if you already have the vmt and vtf just put it into a dir in ..counter-strike sourcecstrikematerials (such as ..counter-strike sourcecstrikematerialsmoneyshot) and it'll appear in Hammer's texture browser provided CS is selected in the SDK drop down menu.

Regarding embedding custom textures into the bsp, do a Google on 'Pakrat' or 'Cannon Fodder Winbsp'. The problem at the moment, though, is that the addition of HDR has totally thrown a spanner into the works. If you DON'T buildbubemaps, the bsp file stays as bsp v19 and you CAN embed textures into it (and naturally don't have the proper cubemaps built!) However if you buildcubemaps the resulting bsp file is v20 and Valve haven't yet released the updated tools to use bsp v20's. <img src=" SRC="images/smiles/sad.gif">

So will I be able to use custom textures and compile this map and send it to these people to put on their server, where everyone who jumps on will get and see the new textures?

And will this also work with the sound file?

You can embed a sound file in the bsp and as far as I know it should work, but for the love of god please dont put background music into a CS map.

Yes, but atm you can only either buildcubemaps OR embed custom textures, not both. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Wi5son, The sound file is techno music, and I plan on putting speakers around the map people can shoot out to stop the noise. when all the speakers are gone then no music.

But I may just use a humming engine sound or something like that to add the same spooky effect, and help disorient people.

Ok does anyne have some cool LASER TAg like Textures I can use.. lol?

Does anyone want to take the bsp and texture it for me.. Im bad at textures. lol.
